This document and small patch detail what needs to be done in order to be able to combine TIE with Frans and get the most out of both. With this combination, your encounters with vanilla creatures will still have the more visceral experience TIE provides while introducing more variety in the loot they carry.
This setup does NOT rebalance the new material added by Frans.
Requirements
* Wrye Bash, version 279 or later.
* Francesco's Leveled Creatures & Items Mod.
* Optionally can also include Francesco's Optional New Items Add-On, and Francesco's Optional New Creatures Add-On.
* TIE, version 1.26 or later. Latest available version highly recommended.
Setup
Make sure Frans is properly installed. For this specific setup, since TIE from 1.26 onward requires Shivering Isles, it's best if Frans is also configured to support SI too. It is probably also best to leave out the Living Economy support. If you still want some kind of merchant economy system, I highly recommend Enhanced Economy by TheNiceOne. It fits in very well with both TIE and Frans. If you want the more heavy hitting versions of Frans items, install Frans with MOBS support.
Once Frans and TIE are bot installed, you will need to set things up for Wrye Bash to merge the contents. Set the following files up with the listed tags:
Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items Mod.esm {{BASH:Actors.AIData,Actors.AIPackages,Actors.CombatStyle,Actors.DeathItem,Actors.Stats,Delev,Invent,NpcFaces,Relev,Scripts,Stats}}
Francesco's Optional New Items Add-On.esm {{BASH:Delev,Relev}}
Francesco's Optional New Creatures Add-On.esm {{BASH:Actors.AIPackages,Delev,Factions,Invent,Relations,Relev,Scripts}}
TIE.esp {{BASH:Actors.ACBS,Actors.AIData,Actors.DeathItem,Actors.Spells,Actors.Stats,C.RecordFlags,Delev,Invent,NpcFaces,Relations,Relev,Scripts,Stats}}
If you also happened to install Francesco's Optional New Adventurers.esp, make sure that loads before TIE. It does not require tags.
In order to also get the illuminated staves that Frans gives to many of the magic using NPCs, you need to install the TIE+Frans NPC Inventory.esp file. This file must be placed after TIE.esp in your load order and should *NOT* be tagged and should *NOT* be merged. It must be activated and left alone.
With this setup, TIE is positioned as the dominant overhaul.
Making it Work
Now comes the fun part. It's time to rebuild the Bashed Patch.
Make sure the following options are checked:
Import Actors: Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items Mod.esm, TIE.esp
Import Actors-AI Packages: Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items Mod.esm, Francesco's Optional New Creatures Add-On.esm
Import Cells: TIE.esp
Import Factions: Francesco's Optional New Creatures Add-On.esm
Import Inventory: Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items Mod.esm, Francesco's Optional New Creatures Add-On.esm, TIE.esp
Import NPC Faces: Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items Mod.esm, TIE.esp ( This is entirely optional, but definitely adds to the game if used )
Import Relations: Francesco's Optional New Creatures Add-On.esm, TIE.esp
Import Scripts: Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items Mod.esm, Francesco's Optional New Creatures Add-On.esm, TIE.esp
Import Stats: Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items Mod.esm, TIE.esp
Leveled Lists: The automatic selections picked by Wrye Bash are sufficient.
You will likely have other things also in the patch menus, select those as needed according to the directions from those mods.
Once the patch is done rebuilding, you should go to the Saves tab, right click on your save, and use the "Update NPC Levels" option. After that, load your game, and wait 3 days in an isolated location for the spawn lists to update. After that it won't take long to see the results. Enjoy
