[BETA/WIPZ] TIE4MODS Reborn [BETA/WIPZ]

Post » Sat Dec 11, 2010 4:34 am

The Path of Dawn quest: You find Baurus, and he leads you down into the sewers to meet with the Mythic Dawn. At one point, he'll stop following you (it's a cell transition, but I can't recall exactly where) and there's nothing to do to get him to come along. You have to manually advance the quest stage to mark the quest complete, and then he'll go to Cloud Ruler Temple like he's supposed to and you can keep on. The only problem is, you won't get the key from the Mythic Dawn for the back door, so you'll either have to backtrack or console disable the door to leave the short way. You also miss out on Volume 4, but since there are plenty of other places to get it, that's not such a big deal.

Yeah, this solution never did it for me.Thanks for posting it though. I don't like to use mods that break immersion like this. People have said several times that it can be fixed, but it never has been. So I'm super excited about this release!

Patience, grasshopper... I'm sure we won't catch them all, but the longer we have to test it out with other mods, the better. :brokencomputer:

Best not to rush a good thing. Thanks to everyone involved in the testing, you all rock like a hurricane. I'll just sit over here in the corner and wait.....ready to swoop in and grab it. :ninja:

Actually, one quick question. Will this new update need to be on a clean save? Or will it be able to update a game in progress with the older version of TIE?

CorePc will have to answer the update question, sorry... but thanks for your patience, guys. As you may know, there have been several versions of regular TIE released since CorePC made the first alpha, and it was decided that TIE4Mods should be based not on v1.26 as originally planned, but on v.1.30 (which includes some critical changes). So CorePC is now working on rebuilding the mod so that FCOM users will be using the up-to-date version instead. Unfortunately, that means an additional delay--but I believe it will be worth the wait. From the small taste that I have had while testing the alpha, TIE adds new flavor to FCOM--new npc's and new interactions--and I am sure you will thoroughly enjoy it. :)

How dare you speak for me!?

Err, well except in this case...but...uhhhhhh.

Hmmm.

Okay, this time you can dare to speak for me, but at no other times can you dare speak for me. Unless it's a similar situation, and then...uhh.

Right. Glad that's all sorted out.

TIE4mods ahoy!

T.I.E.4MODS will give the same support to other mod as Kvatch Rebuilt, Malevolent, Cobl etc?

Thanks, and thanks for all the other nice mod you've done, I use them all.

Just checking in,

so if I start my new game with the older TIE4MODS can it be updated to the yet to be released update? or is the new version a drastically different mod? thanks.

Since TIE4MODS simply does not fit very well and can could cause problems (though I do not think serious issues like crashes are a concern) it would be safest if you just left it out as you start. The new version has to be pretty different, and the process of adding mods is much cleaner that updating, and even removing, mods. You would probably have to go through a clean save, and then hope that no excess data is left over, etc. Not to mention, TIE4Mods AI load is pretty heavy. However, if you have played with it before, you probably already knew that...

thanks for the advice, it sounds a little risky to update partway through a game. So I think I'll just keep being patient and wait for the release until I start playing oblivion again. cheers!

Fantastically awesome!!!

So the version of Tamriel travellers I'm using (1.39c) won't be necessary when TIE4MODS is added to my LO? Or do I need some of the patches from the original mod still for use with mmm fcom, etc. I like the fewer npcs option, since it also dropped my FPS in the old version. All your brilliant work is much appreciated!!

I think you will still need to continue using your standalone version of Travellers--so that when that mod is updated CorePC will only have to update one package.
Since this is a total rebuild (and other mods have taken precedence) it will take more a little more time, but I am expecting another alpha version within a week or so... after that a short period of crashtesting for bugs and balance--so that the beta release is as close to CorePC's usual high standard as we can make it (within the time available). The best I can say at this point is stay tuned--and that I appreciate knowing others are interested and as enthusiastic about the project as I am.

Travellers is stripped out TIE4MODS so that you can the Full Travellers if you like. That is first thing I always strip out my TIE once again, my own travellers that where merged.

Once the next Beta is ready you will be on list to get a copy for testing.

Yep my high standard is something that I have to live up to, if I realease something that is crappy, then I hear all about it from everyone. And stripping tie down into tie4mods is not a easy project once again. Alot of new features in this tie compared to older version once again. Alot more stuff.

I can't wait for this to come out, I've been holding out on using the core TIE so I can play with OOO, MMM and TIE all together in one awesome trifecta of challenge.
