It's time to make a statement Bethesda...

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 11:43 am

I'll keep this short and to the point. The literal majority of customer comments now revolve on how a series of patches have broken the game. These type of posts are only occasionally interrupted, and in fact emphasized, by desperate "Bethesda lovers sign here xoxoxo" threads from the "defend no matter what" crowd.

Whatever you want to say about the recent series of events and buglists hundreds of items long - it is time to say something.

It is a vocal minority. A vocal minority of people who have nothing better to do than spam an internet forum does not constitute a "literal majority"

Nearly all of my friends are playing Skyrim on various platforms, and only one has reported a bug of any kind. This game is not "broken", no matter how desperately you want to exaggerate the problem to make it seem as such.

You want a buggy, broken mess of a game, go play Star Wars Galaxies from it's launch. And even THAT forum wasn't as trolled as this one.

That's quite a collection of quotes you have there.

They're all true.

An no matter how many times you try to make people think the game isn't broken and claim it's a vocal minority, you're just as wrong. There ARE problems. They exits on ALL platforms.

/edit
I have 222 plus some change hours invested into the game. There are TONS of bugs. TONS. Some game-breaking. Some LOLLABLE.

It is actually the minority, just compare the actual amount of people playing the game vs. the amount of people claiming the game is broken. Also, just because there are problems, does not mean the game is broken.

I'm not taking sides here... I'm just sayin...

Hey, i like DA2, but comparing reactions to Skyrim to those for DA2 makes this place, even now, look like a very peaceful and calm place :hehe:

Well, considering the internet is usually a place of complaints and hate, or bug reports, and they've sold millions of units, and all their official reviews are damned near flawless....

It'd be appreciated if they did make a statement, but it won't be that they made a failure. It will be that removing every bug in Skyrim is going to be hard as all hell, because of the size of the world and the amount of content.

Because, according to their investors and Zenimax (the only people that truly have any influence on Bethesda, and the reasons they HAVE to make money first, and appeal to a huge audience), they were MASSIVELY successful with Skyrim.

Well good for you. But there are people who don't play on a limited, outdated system that are having issues because the crappy engine does not work for sophisticated platforms. ;)

Your sophisticated platform is apparently not sophisticated enough to run something that works perfectly on my subpar, heathen console machine.

I guess your rig isn't good enough to match my crappy console, sorry.

Maybe you need to upgrade your sophisticated platform so that it's crappy enough like mine to run it.

what do u expect them to say?

Sorry guys, we [censored] up.

Really, it's not that hard. Only takes about a minute to do. Less, actually. There have been countless threads posted about bugs. How many were fixed in the latest patch? How many were even mentioned? Some acknowledgement would go a long, long way right about now, because it really seems like they don't give a [censored], or at least aren't going to bother with fixing the problems we're bringing to their attention.

You guys need to lay the game down for a bit, head out and do something else. The forum behavior as of late is something I would expect on a Habbo or Runescape server, and frankly, its getting on peoples nerves.

Rather than constantly crying, spamming and cursing - why not give them some time to get their act together? Besides, the game is perfectly playable. I had 2 radiant quests brake down during my 120 hours playing the game. So if dragons start to fly backwards (not happening here) and my resistance no longer works (never does, I am vampire) - I take a break. Big [censored] deal, riite?

The next ES game should be a 100% console-exclusive. It would save the internet a whole load of bandwidth, that's for sure! (no pun intended).

You have done well Bethesda, Sithis is pleased with your performance on your last assignment. The suffering endured by those insessant little forum whiners, how shall we say, quite pleasing.......

I dont think people are denying that there are problems...it's just the incessant [censored] whining flooding the forums...it gets old. Trust me, they know about the issues by now. They have to eat and sleep and poo just like us.

So the PS3 save file bug is a lie? It does not exist? Wow apparently I am imagining the unplayable lag myself as are other PS3 owners.

Thing is this game is awesome, but its broken, it becomes just plain unplayable on the PS3, but of course I am exaggerating according to you.

I just want to play this game :(

Can you explain then, that why I, and many, many, many, many others can't do the quest Blood on the ice?

Can you explain then, why after you escape the mine in markarth, The guards may or may not still be stuck in the shrine of talos, causing them to go into a never ending loop because they can't send you back to a jail, Because said jail is a one time, non-repeatable quest? Can you explain to me how I am Thane of markarth, have a fully decked out dwelling, tons of nice gear stored and because of aforementioned bug...I can no longer even go near that area..Unless I want to cheat?

If they're so happy with Skyrim, why are they on the forum reading complaints and not actually playing it? Why are they complaining about the complaints?

Nothin' better to do, huh?

Bethesda going out of its way to fix something for free, ends up screwing things up, and all it gets is venomous spite and constant complaining from users, despite it only being out for one day.

Classy.

“We’ll start hitting on everything after vacation,” Howard said. “We’ll take a break [after the game launches], see what consumers think of the game, then see which direction we want to go.”

Oh, that explains a lot.
