In My Time of Need

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 7:46 am

This is really annoying me. I don't know who to trust. Saddia is a Redguard women in Whiterun who claims to have spoken out against the Aldmeri Dominion and has had assassins from Hammerfell come after her sent by the dominion, she wants me to assassinate their leader, Kematu. Although when I finally speak to Kematu he says she sold their town out to the Aldmeri Dominion and that the resistance in Hammerfell is still alive and they want to bring her to justice... This reminds me of a side quest in Morrowind when that "witch" was stealing men's belongings after they helped her out. But when you talk to her she tells you the men tried to get "to comfortable" around her. I ended up making the wrong decision and killing the men. I found out later she has done this before, witch means she is obviously a scam.

In any case, I don't know who to trust. Some Poor helpless women who may turn out to use that to her advantage. Or suspicious Redguard's guarded by bandits who may actually turn out to be the good guys. What do you think?

Well if this helps, it doesn't make you feel better when you sell her out. It just leaves you thinking that you should of killed him.

Honestly...I only agreed to help the dudes because I was really low level and knew I would get my butt handed to me by them. Now, I would be able to take them all without a second thought.

To be honest, Even though they're Assassins, she did sell her country out to the Thalmor, I just can't approve of that.

Lets take a look at some of the facts surrounding this.

1. Kematu is hiding in a bandits lair. Now, if Kematu was here on a legitimate business, what business does he have using a bandit's lair as his hideout? Is it a case of you are the company that you keep? Thus Kematu is a villain?
Or is he possibly hiding from the Thalmor, and there is no Stormcloak city nearby?

2. Kematu, instead of choosing to obliterate you, decides to reason with you.
Now you just killed a lot of his men to get to him, so you could say that he was scared of you and wanted to get out of this alive.

But, how many villains have you met that tried to reason with you? Pretty sure 100% of the time they just want to kill you. But Kematu here, chose to reason with you. So you could say Kematu here could have noble intentions.
And after you helped him, he left you alone, rather than try to assassinate you out of revenge for obliterating his forces. He also paid you. He even gave you some parting advice to not always trust a pretty face.

In the end I chose Kematu. I think he's telling the truth. The only blemish to his story is that he was hiding in a bandit's hideout.

"THEY ARE RUTHLESS ASSASSINS ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY"

*pulls over redguard women but doesnt harm her and lets her go*

"we will gladly pay you if you help lore her...she will pay for her crimes, we will not harm her on the way. She will fair before a court and face punishment in High Rock"

she lied to me, so i killed her. Either way i have to give her probs shes a dam good lier and has a pretty enough face to prove it

Yes this is an interesting fact that casts them in better light. They didn't harm the first redguard woman in your first meeting.
They also didn't cause any trouble in Whiterun initially, though one of them got caught in jail.

So they are not even like the Dark Brotherhood. They don't even want to kill Saddia, and want to bring her in alive.

I am a Hand2Hand Khajiit :P

I'm sort of leaning towards helping the Redguard's. But I'm having to much fun throwing their stuff in the pool in their cave atm to decide ^_^

I see it like this, they may be Ruthless and probably Assassins but they are only doing their job and being loyal to their homeland and want justice.
She on the other-hand not only lied to you but also destroyed all their freedom back home by selling out to the Thalmor, as far as I can see, she's lucky that she wasn't killed on the spot.

Legitimate business as in, revenge chasing a traitor to another country which probably grants her diplomatic immunity and even if it doesn't then he's a rebel in his own country anyway? That's hardly a legitimate business...

2. Kematu, instead of choosing to obliterate you, decides to reason with you.

You didn't kill any of his men. They're just bandits.

I killed him and his posse. No way I can trust someone hiding in a cave protected by bandits. Of course they could have been hired... I chose my path we shall see if this comes back to bite me in the a**

As a member of the Dark Brotherhood, I felt a certain obligation to honour my contract with Saadia. Plus, she's kind of hot too.
