Time stops progressing after "Dragon Rising" quest

Post » Mon Jul 15, 2013 10:03 pm

As the title says. After I complete the quest "Dragon Rising", time stops advancing properly in my game. My in-game clock won't progress past 12pm no matter how long I wait or how long I try to sleep or select wait, so I am stuck at the same time of day forever. I'm also unable to buy things from shopkeepers which I'm assuming is because their time schedule has also been messed up.

I can confirm that this only happens after completing this quest, because I have saves from before it (including one I made in Whiterun just before leaving to fight the dragon) where waiting causes time to advance. The problem only starts after I defeat Mirmulnir.

I haven't messed around with time scaling using the console.

Either way you can load a previous save and try again, or you should try to Verifying Game Cache Files.

  1. Completely exit Steam
  2. Right-click on the shortcut which you use to launch Steam
  3. Select "Run as Administrator"
  4. Load Steam, from the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
  5. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
  6. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
  7. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.
