While the delay is on, I have question. Does the ban extend only to spells? What about greater and lesser powers, or alchemy?

It's alright man. Take your time. Got a few quick questions for you though.

On the Hammerfell RP, is it going to take place after this RP, in the 4th Year? Or right after High Rock, which would be about the same time? Just wondering on the actual time frame of it, as I may possibly bring Arethan Andas back into all this (furthering his life story and continuing his role in the timeline).

Just a question, considering the time will have an effect on it. Two people can't be in the same place at once.

details will be known when I get done with it.

Just spell casting. Greater and lesser powers...I tend to marginalize those as they seem to better fit in game mechanics than in a writing form. Greater and lesser powers such as?

If the RP ever comes to it, you'll see. Don't worry though, I assure you it'll be quite relevant to my character. I don't want to say more at this time.

In any case the ban doesn't concern us because we're the 'Spell Breakers' so we have permission from the Guild.

Go ahead and join no problem. I'm way behind on my posting. I'll get to it. It's hard for me right now because I need to reply to every single person within one post. Hopefully we'll get to a place where people can go on and write without me being the wall to bounce off of each time.

I'll try to post soon. Honestly though, I'd like some of you to continue before we continue as well. We are ahead of everyone, really.

I'm just not going to be the [censored] that sits around and says nothing.

Darkom, I'm gonna wait to see if Immortal's friend posts for Daoysa before making a post to respond to yours just so they don't fall behind or anything like that.

Sorry to Darkom and Daoysa for assuming you guys would follow. I just wanted to get going and it seemed like neither of you're characters really cared what we did so I got us moving out of the guild and onto the actual fun stuff.

Doesn't bother me so long as we're going somewhere. I have a general idea of where the plot is taking me but honestly you guys can do just about anything and i'll have the plot adapt to it. Don't wait for me to make up the flow of the story too much. Just consider me as any other RPer.

So basically you are giving us the green light to make the plot go any sort of way (within reasonable limit and maturity of course) ?

Hey, I'm still intensely interested in the RP, you guys seem early enough in the roleplay, if it is O.K, I would make a CS ASAP, just let me know if it is ok. Also, if it is, can you tell me in what context you would like to to introduce myself into it.

Name: Elendur Varo

Age: 38

Race: Breton/Imperial

Gender: Male

General Appearance:

He has a rough build, and a rough physique. He has untidy brown hair, which is mostly concealed underneath a hood, or a helmet. Elendur has pale, green eyes, almost hazel. He said to look much like his Breton mother, he has a softer face, people say it is almost designed for laughing, but Elendur does little of that since he left the Palace. Considering his parents, Elendur is remarkably tall, his father used to say it was the Nord in him. Elendur stands at six foot. Elendur is a strong man, but that strength isn't shown in well-defined muscles, he is large, weighing almost 200 pounds, but most of his weight is lean muscle, gained during his intense training and fighting. He is much older than he looks, many suggest that he isn't a day older 30, that is only because of his Breton ancestry.

Psychological Profile:

Elendur used to be a very happy man, during his days with the Mages Guild, he was carefree and kind, and could always be found drinking at the local tavern, our laughing with his fellow mages. However, even back then, Elendur had a deep resentment for those mages who rejected the rules of the Guild, and who practiced necromancy. His work with the Guild kept him rich, and made him well known. When Elendur was named Imperial Battlemage, it was the happiest he had ever been. He wore his title proudly, and took it very seriously, then he was happy.

But the Legion changed him, before the Legion, he had never seen death. He saw innocent people die, his time with the Legion erased the happiness that had once existed. He became a cold blooded killer, he had no mercy. Which is what made him perfect for the title of Spell Breaker.

Weapons: A longsword that belonged that he inherited from his father, it's description is complicated, it was forged many years ago, by the Orcs of the mountains. Of what metal it was made of Elendur is not sure. It is a bright silver, with streaks of gold. Named "Arandor". He also carries his Mage's Staff of Lighting, which he rarely uses as a weapon.

Armor/Clothing: Full Legion armor (Oblivion Style). When not in his armor he wears a red silk robe and gold-trimmed shoes.

Other: He has a copy of the Manual of Arms and Spellcraft in a bag that he carries with him. He also carries his mother's locket, that was shipped to him when he was on duty in Skyrim.

Magic Skill: As with all Imperial Battlemages, he is a master in the art of destruction. He also excels in the schools of Alteration, Illusion and Mysticism.

Class: Battlemage

Skills: Destruction, Illusion, Mysticism, Blade, Heavy Armor, Block, and Speechcraft.

History:

Elendur was born to a loving family, his father, a Palace Guard, his mother, a Mages Guild Wizard. He grew up in the Imperial City, he loved the city, and the people. He was known, even when he was a child, to be a gifted wizard. He spent his childhood wandering about the Arcane University with his mother, learning, reading, he dreamt one day he could be like those powerful mages. He was inducted into the Guild early, advancing through the ranks swiftly, till he reached his mother's rank of Wizard, during his time in the Guild, he was a valuable individual. He developed a task force, with the help of the Legion, that was to tack down necromancer's, they were exceedingly successful, and were able to track down and kill many famous necromancers.

Elendur continued this work for many years, earning a reputation within the necromancer cult as a fierce opponent. Soon, the threats became too much, and the Guild forced Elendur to go into hiding, however, when his father was murdered while on duty in the Palace basemant, Elendur felt that it was his duty to follow in his father's footsteps, considering he had followed in his mother's his entire life. He went to join the Legion, and was sent to Skyrim, he spent the last five years there, quelling the threat of the daedra, which was easy enough. For the last two years of his service, Elendur's Legion was used as riot police. The Nords did not like the Legion presence, and rioted constantly, Elendur was forced to fight back against the rioters, and he killed many civilians in the name of the Legion. In his last year of service, Elendur receive a package, within the package was his mother's locket, and a hand, the hand of his mother, it was used as proof she was dead. The necromancers had gotten their revenge, Elendur had killed so many of them, it was only a matter of time. Elendur wanted revenge, just as the necromancers did. So after he returned from Skyrim, he pledged himself to the Spell Breakers.

Specialty: Elendur is a well-rounded soldier, able to use magic, or a sword to take down his enemies. He can handle himself well in a sword fight, and also excels in long-range Destruction spells, various Illusion spells, shield spells, Dispel, and Life detection Spells.

Let me know if this is ok!

Alright I just closed down spellbreakers and i'll be writing up the RP for Hammerfell. It's set a few years after the Siege of Sentinel where King Hauron seeks to expand his hold on Hammerfell. The cities along the southern coast of Hammerfell were staunch supporters of the Empire and the ruling class had a reasonable level of control that they enjoyed. They resist Hauron's offer to join his rule but at the same time also do not mind all that much that the Empire's shadow is becoming shorter and shorter reaching toward the west. At the same time they realize they are disunified and have many threats, from the north in the same of the Nordic migrations as well as the Altai. To the south the Aldmeri Dominion and to the west possibly Sentinel itself. The Aldmeri Dominion tries to take Anvil but are handed an embarrassing defeat. Along with this the High Bishop of Anvil has a dream in which Talos tells him that if the armies of the faithful retake Sentinel, that the Empire will be reborn. Crusaders from all parts join Anvil's cause and their armies march west, the friendly Empire leaning cities joining their cause.

That's a very basic outline of the story line. It'll be political and war inclined but as always other elements can be present. Goals are pretty simple and straight forward. No waiting around. I have someone to lead Sentinel and I want someone to lead Anvil. A change from the typical "war" RPs I see on the forums is that individuals will not be handed "ok you have this city and this many troops" but instead the faction leader will rule the entire faction and have a grand army (which can be split up) and he or she gives out resources to the people under him.

Perhaps we should first try to see what went wrong with this and most other RP's. It's gotten rare for an RP to reach a second thread nowadays, and I think it would be beneficial if we could figure out what the problem is. Is it the detail in the posts that are expected nowadays so great that posting requires too much work? Or is everyone simply too busy nowadays? I don't want to make accusations, I just want us to better understand why RPing has declined and what to do to prevent the next RP from suffering the fate of the last few.

While I am not in this RP I see this idea as a good one.

Why are there so few RPs that get going?

This lack of RPs leads to a a lack of interest, eventually to a lack of RPers. A lack of RPers means the definitive end to the RPs.

Could it be that it is always the same persons who gets to start up RPs and therefore they are getting too much on their hands at once? Or is it because there is only enough RPers for 1-3 RPs to be going on at once?
I dont know, I havent been here for very long and havent been interested in why the RPs are closing... Until now.

My guess would be that people are too used to GMs doing all the moving along and so, when the GM is unable to do so, the RP stops dead in its tracks. I'd say SoS worked because it was not only set over a smaller area where people had the chance to interact more, but because there was always room for the players to build the story and the people involved were willing to take the initiative and use this room, along with being devoted enough to the RP to keep comming back. Immortal didn't need to constantly shunt the RP forward, it moved on its own.

Well I'd hate to be Buzz Killington, but I'll be away from computers for a bit more then a month, 42 days to be exact, going to be clustered up with work. My original thought was that the initial rp would be focused on the cities within Anvil's control.

And by southern cities, are we talking about the Taneth, Roseguard, Chougand and Rihad areas? Because Gilane, Lainbon all the way through Laiynlin and back (with every city in that triangle) were all brought within Sentinel.

I will try to get a hold of some of our old friends, but I will not be able to join the rp as direct Sentinel as soon as I'd like to. If anything related to Sentinel does go on, PFA is pretty much the go to guy, he can represent a diplomat/ambassador, and he already has a character to fill up the mighty ranks of the Yokeda.Immortal, unfortunately I dont have an Instant messeger over here, so if you shoot me a pm we can discuss things in further detail and hopefully figure everything out.

---------------------
And my guess for RPs dying would be roleplayers and a lack of interest in any rp, of course work comes up, but if people aren't motivated to write to it when they have other things on their plate, the rp will be weeded out.
