Timing of the "middle" power shout.

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 10:09 am

Just wondering if anyone uses their "middle" power shout. For me its either a quick tap or more often hold button untill hell breaks out.

But I suppose the middle shout would yield the power required to do enough damage and yet still be feasible with a lower time cool down. Does anyone know of a easy way to time a middle shout? I would like to know if a middle power shout will Fus Ro someone off a side of a cliff, but never get it right in practice since I want the enemy gone and never am disciplined to let up off the button.

It may be easier if Bethesda implement a double click for medium shout and triple click/double click and hold for max power shout....

Edit: just thinking about the triple click. I think someone doing that would probably trigger the power shout faster than holding the button...

Edit2: Another thought. Delay my last on a triple click. Click and hold may hold more purpose especially if while holding you can continue the last word in the shout and do more "pushing" or freeze breath. This would be awesome if the amount of time you could hold your shout was based on your stamina on how long you can hold a note.

Normally I'll just tap the Shout key if I want a single word to be used.

To get just two words, I'll hold down the Shout key and release it right when my character starts shouting the first word.

For all three words, I'll hold the key down until he finishes the entire Shout.

Don't know how everyone else does it, but this technique works for me.

Thanks for your insight. Seems like a method to try. How hard do you think it would be to mod continuing a shout for as long as you hold the shout button until your stamina runs out? Off topic, but if you have the soul of a dragon then might as well hold shouts like they do.

I didn't know anyone used baby shouts by choice. It's an all or nothing deal for me.

Here's an example of why I'll use just one word in a shout:

To be conservative with the Shout cooldown timer, I'll use Fus to knock an opponent off balance and go in with a power shot. Going full out with your Shouts leaves you at a disadvantage when you might need another Shout in the middle of the same battle.

Shouldn't be too hard to do. Our modding community is the best that I've seen in any of the genera’s that I've been associated with (ex-military flight sims junkie here!). Once the CK is released, give them some time... that would be something that I would like to look into myself if no one's working on it.

BTW: love your avatar.

I like to use "baby" ice form when I am wandering around the land and don't want to have to deal with a creature/npc for some reason. Could be, I don't feel they deserve my attention, or I need a breather. Ice them and keep on truckin.

Or I use "baby" etheral when I need to close in and destroy a soul gem rune that would otherwise one shot me to oblivion.

Thanks, that guy is too cool.
