Tinvaak with Hjalti Early-Beard

The young Hjalti has climbed the Monahven for the second time, with the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller in his grasp. He enters the halls of High Hrothgar. He presents the Horn in his outstretched hand, and the Greybeards bow their heads, acknowledging the completion of the task asked of them. They hold their arms up high as they speak the tongue of the Daughters of Kyne.

"Lingrah krosis saraan Strundu'ul, voth nid balaan klov praan nau. Naal Thu'umu, mu ofan nii nu, Dovahkiin, naa suleyk do Kaan, naa suleyk do Shor, ahrk naal suleyk do Atmorasewuth. Meyz nu Ysmir, Dovahsebrom. Dahmaan daar rok."

After bestowing a gift to Hjalti that will remove any mists that block his path, the Greybeards tell him to go to the very summit of Snow-Throat to speak with their leader. Hjalti obeys the Greybeards, and leaves the halls of Hrothgar to conquer the mountain.

After battling with wraiths, wispmothers, Frost Trolls and a Snow Whale for what seems like days, Hjalti reaches the summit to find nothing there, save for a black stone similar to the one in Ustengrav. He looks upon it, but does not understand the scratches of a dragon's claw.

Hours pass, and not matter how many times he shouts or Shouts, no one is there to hear his calls. He is all ready for the long descent back to Hrothgar, when an almighty roar cracks the silence, that sends snow tumbling from the peak of the mountain which nearly consumes Hjalti. A great beast larger than anything the young warrior has ever seen falls from the sky, and lands upon the black stone, like a sparrow on a branch. Hjalti pulls his sword from its scabbard and charges towards the monstrosity in front of him, and as he attempts to strike his foe, the beast speaks a whisper of word: *Zul*

Hjalti's sword is pulled from his grasp and is embedded into the rock where the beast sits.

"Drem Yol Lok. Greetings, wunduniik. I am Paarthurnax. Who are you? What brings you to my strunmah...my mountain?"

Hjalti shouts at the dragon, with a hint of fear in his voice.

"Where is he? What have you done with the leader of the Greybeards? Have you eaten him? Does his flesh and bones rest inside your belly? I ought to slice you open!!!"

Hjalti looks upon his sword, closes his eyes, and Shouts 'Wuld', sending him crashing into the stone and almost knocks himself into unconciousness.

"Ho Ha Hum, Dovahkiin. Your Thu'um is strong, yes, but until you learn to control it, maybe you should speak in your own tongue, hm?"

"Damn wyrm, I've slain worse beasts than you. I am the general of an army. I should go back down the mountain, bring them here and end your miserable life."

"Ho Ha Hum, it has been too long, Dovahkiin, since I have felt what you joors call amusemant."

"Enough!! Tell me what you have done to the leader of the Greybeards!!!"

The dragon pushes itself off the rock into the air, and lands on the ground in front of Hjalti.

"Ask yourself this, Dovahkiin. Who would be better to teach joors the Thu'um, than one of the dov? You have heard of the banishment of my brother, Alduin, no?"

"Of course I have heard the stories. The Tongues fought the beast here on the mountain, and used an Elder Scroll to be rid of him."

"The Kelle, yes. Hmm. I had hoped that they would be strong enough to defeat him without it. Krosis."

"I did not come here for a history lesson, dragon."

"Hmm. So why did you come here, Dovahkiin?"

Silence is heard.

"...I don't know."

"Hmm."

Hjalti and Paarthurnax sit in silence, contemplating life.

"The Jills have granted me a vision, Dovahkiin."

"Jills?"

"They say you have a hunger for conquest, like a dov."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I see a golden hill with you as its leader. Deep inside, where the bronjun of old sleep, is a gem gifted by my father, Akatosh, to a great joor."

"I don't know what that means."

"Ze of the East will teach you how to transcend mortality."

"I don't understand that either."

"You shall rule over the joorre of Taazokaan, but only by angering the Jills with the help of the Dwarves."

"Dwarves? But they have been gone for thousands of years!!"

"The Kalpa is coming to an end, Dovakhiin. Do what is right for joorre."

"What's a kalpa? You aren't making any sense."

"The vision ends, and I see no more. Krosis. I must rest know. Return to your Bronjun. He will want to hear news of your latest victory."

Paarthurnax spreads his wings, lifts off into the sky and leaves Hjalti to struggle in his attempt to retrieve his sword.
