Tips for blocking?

Post » Fri Mar 15, 2013 6:31 am

Everytime i block an attack, as soon as i try to get a hit in they just repeatedly attack me. I'm doing it wrong aren't I? I suppose i could stagger them with the shield but that uses up way too much stamina. I do know about vegetable soup but it seems a bit cheep. Any tips for master playthrough?

Blocking really shines when you get Quicker Reflexes. Block until they do a Power Attack. When time slows down, run around behind them and wear them out.

When you Charge it really gets fun.

You've got to get into the rhythm. Bash, regular attack (x2 usually if using one-hand sword), Bash. Keep them staggered so they can't defend themselves or optionally do it like Senor Cinco mentioned. I personally don't have any trouble which is why I liked the arena in OB so much, it honed my fighting skills.

ALWAYS block, and ALWAYS bash.

Simply block, if they attack, better yet BEFORE they attack, bash them and hack at them about 2 or three time, always circle around them, perhaps use a power attack while circling around them for added damage. Then put your guard right back up, and bash.

Bash is much more useful than blocking.

You need a LOT of stamina to bash. it takes too many hits for me to kill someone to be able to rely on that. Perhaps i should get my 1H up.

Actually, if you run out of stamina, just keep blocking until you do have enough stamina (keep in mind that blocking does take stamina as well). I put all points into stamina first, health second.

Better yet, when you run out of stamina, walk backyard and evade attacks.

Just try it:

1. Block
2. When they ready an attack, bash
3. Counter attack (normal attack and power attack while circling around them)

EDIT: Circling around them lets you easily evade their next attack, allowing you to regen stamina.
