DX11 is the least of things to complain about, the entire game in many ways on PC is much less than they promised. They said the PC version would get separate development vs a port that has no graphics options other than High, Very High and Extreme system settings. The fact is there's not many places in the game where DX11 will even help much really. There's so many dark maps and maps with overcast skies, a lot of the polygons used can't benefit from high tesselation, and as far as physics there are hardly any destroyable objects like the previous titles had.
The story hardly ties in at all to Crysis, there's no explanation of what happened when Prophet went AWOL, and no reason given for the cephs suddenly walking vs flying. Wouldn't flying make it harder to kill them or at least add a dynamic that makes it much harder to avoid fire? Yeah the gun ships pass by a few times here and there, but in a predictable pattern, then leave. They never fire singularity blasts or freeze rays.
Only a few of the suit upgrades are useful, then stalking the ceph for catalyst, one of the better elements of the game, becomes pointless. The AI is atrociously inept and can't hear direction of weapons to save their life. They say idiotic things to corpses like "Are you hit, where are you hit"? They'll spend a few seconds investigating an area strewn with dead bodies and just because they haven't seen or heard you they'll say "Must have been a false alarm", and you can sabotoge spoke seals literally right behind some of the more powerful cephs which appear to be guarding them.
There's far too many places you can just sneak past enemies and the ending is literally void of an epic battle it makes you think it's leading up to. They have THREE suit upgrades, one very expensive, that all have to do with cloak detection, yet there's only 3 cephs in the end that actually cloak, and even those can be fairly easily avoided.
Face it man, there's far more to complain about in this game than mere lack of DX11.
+1 to you and a bonus of +2 for being intelligent about your reply.
This things are why most of the PC community is upset. DX11 is just a straw on the camels back. It's why I'm mad. This game isn't worht $60. I would have paid no more then $20-$30 for it AFTER the patched and added DX11. It isn't the worse game by a long shot however it isn't fantastic, it is just...meh. Had they said the truth tha they were going to port it from console to PC, then people would have waited till price dropped to buy it on PC. Right now it looks like either Crytek or EA pushed it out in order to scam people out of as much money as they could.
