Dont know it's name but it seems like Stirk belongs to Cyrodiil and the other one might be to either Cyrodiil or Elsweyr.

Not both of them, one to Cyrodiil and one to Elsweyr.

Those Islands are coloured the same as Cyrodiil, that means they are part of Cyrodiil if those maps are lore true.

It's a bit hard to understand you. :(

But I would say that Stirk belongs to Cyrodiil and the other one to either Cyrodiil or Elsweyr or Black March all depending which one were there first. But then who knows at the moment.

That island is indeed colored the same as Cyrodiil, therefor, it's Cyrodiilian territory.

He means "check", of course.

On topic: Perhaps they don't belong directly to any province. While not big enough to form provinces themselves, isn't it possible that they might have a semi-independent status?
Or perhaps it would rather be semi-semi-independent, as the provinces could allready be counted as "semi" on such a scale.

Kinda like how Solstheim did not belong directly to any neighbouring province, but was still under Imperial protection and an Imperial area?

Everything in Tamriel is Imperial Territory. Which province it belongs to isn't really relevant unless there is something of value there. Natural resources, strategic strong point, or a significant group of people.

Naturally, an island infront of the mouth of the Niben is very important. It may have its own provencial government under direct control of an admiral or realy rich merchant family with their own navy. Who knows, go with something cool.

It's a weak empire.

It's a weak empire.

But there are plenty who want it's power structure intact (Helseth), anyway that has little to do with who technically owns the island (which is how maps are drawn).

And who runs the place, and how taxes are handled, ect. It matters who owns everything.

Stirk obviously belongs to cyrodil in both maps. The other island is probably a contested point and has most likely changed hands over time (my lore-explanation for the disreprecies of the two maps). I'd go with whichever of the two maps is more current on that one. ;) Of course, after the O crisis, who knows?
