Toggelable hoods

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 7:23 pm

I personally think that adding an animation that makes you character take the hood down or up would be a good feature. Because it makes it immersive if you just casually go in somewhere and instead of having to go into inventory and remove the hood from the actual body when the hood should be attached to the armour/ clothing. Thats my opinion.

And this is only a suggestion, and i do not expect this to be put in the game but if you sprint with a hood on and you get slammed all over the place the hood gets pulled of your head (I don't know how to explain it) and you have to take it on again. Just a suggestion tho

Would the person who voted no like to explain? Or do we just have a rebel in our midst?

Voted "no" because there isn't any "don't care" option...and I've now got a new contender for biggest non-issue of an idea ever to grace the forums.

Well, I'll either be looking the Helmet from the trailer, or wearing a fur hat (M'aiq's favourite :hubbahubba: ) so I won't really be using this, but I think it's a great idea for anyone who wears hoods.

Alright... but for the future, not wanting something and not caring are very different and convey very different messages. There is always a 'dont vote' option, you know?

Next to "Water that doesn't actually look bad when you realize it is white water and not actual rushing water seen everywhere in the game." issue that seems to be plaguing the forums lol. I voted yes that it is a good idea but it probably won't make it in the game. Someone will mod it in. I will mod it in after a few years if no one else does after I finish the myriad of other features I said I would mod in that are just little tiny vanity things that shouldn't be added in with the main game. God I'm going to be busy <_<

Not really, one no doesn't hurt the 21 yes'. This isn't the scene in family guy where the FCC got 6 phone call and they equate one phone call to be a billion people, so 6 billion people were offended. It's one person and he conveyed that it was his "don't care" option, well within reason.

Had it in Daggerfall, and wish they kept it in MW and OB. So yes, I would like robes and cloaks to have toggable hoods, if the robes and cloaks have hoods to begin with. And the hoods should be able to go over hats.

But I've heard that there's a customization feature on clothing and stuff so you can probably get the look on the hood or clothing that oyu want, and changing the hood on the clothing should not be restricted ofcourse you should be able to change it, but you shouldn't have to go into inventory to remove the hood from your head

Voted no because it is unneeded. If this is the "immersion" people are clamoring for I think it is fine where it is at. Why not give them an animation for taking off the armor and putting on shoes while we're at it?

Because The Master isn't demanding that those who vote "yes" explain themselves, while those whose votes are "unacceptable" get the third degree.

Y'know what, I agree. Hell with the "don't care" vote, I'm sticking with "no." If hood-flipping is so bloody important, they should have full clothes-changing animations. I want to watch my character put on every piece of clothing he's wearing, because "it adds to teh immershun!!one!!!"

Eh...nah. Why have the hood on if...well, you're not going to have it up? Understandably I dont' always have the hood up on my hoodies, but I'm not walking around in skyrim either. Its one thing that's rather...un-needed if you ask me.

I'm all for anything which minimizes how much time I spend wading through inventory screens. Ugh.

Animations are so important for immersion these days. Creating a believable world. See Read Dead Redemption, graphics average, animations rock.

My feelings exactly, including the "God I'm going to be busy."

Making carriages/rowboats/sleds is going to be so hard (if they aren't included) but so worth it. :)

downside with a integrated hood is that you loose an enchantment slot with an integrated hood. the robe in the scene with the watermill looked like it had a separate hood, the one in the spider lair looked integrated.
Two problems with toggleable hoods, first is control how do you activate, you would make it by switching two models. however you want to keep item condition and enchantments.
Also then the hood is off you can equip an helmet, pull hood up and you remove the helmet.
