toggling xp on/off

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:20 pm

I made the mistake of creating a character with athletics as a minor skill. Is there a mod out there that allows me to toggle xp accumulation on/off for various skills? It would be much nice if I didn't have to walk everywhere just so that I don't get some speed points and gimp my level.

ya I'm power gaming so what

Thanks in advance

Skill increase rate is governed by GMSTs. There is no way to alter GMSTs in-game. They can only be set in the CS. (so, no toggling)
You can set the GMST for the type of skill it is grouped in (Major, Minor or Misc) but I don't believe you can choose one specific skill.

The GMSTs are: fMajorSkillBonus, fMinorSkillBonus, fMiscSkillBonus
The lower the value, the faster you gain skill points.

You're better off just using the EnableStatReviewMenu (or EnableRaceMenu) in the console, and just changing your Skill choices that way.

Or you can just use the Shrine of Daring /Shrine to Stop the Moon outside the Tribunal Temple in Vivec. This allows you to levitate for 24 minutes (about 12 game hours) and is usually faster than a starting character can run. I power game too, and you are not going to get more than a point of athleticism a day even with max use unless you pay trainers (which I don't). It is possible to use this to get a 2x multiplier for Speed every level up.

I'm quite sure your Athletic Skill increases when you're moving around during levitation.
Also, it's not very practical to head to Vivec every 24 minutes after the spell wears off.

I use this a lot and the athletics does not increase while levitating. You can Guild Guide to Vivec Mages’ Guild (I always have a Mark set to recall to the Balmora Guild Guide) and Almsivi Intervention to the Temple Canton. It’s a short walk to the shrine.

Since you don't mind using mods, I made one for you. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CSUOEFYI
When activated, it will reduce the experience gained from running or swimming to 0.
Didn't know if you had the expansions, so I made it dependant only on Morrowind`s master.

P.S: It might take a few minutes for the download to become available.
