cry-adam says "I think some people have missed the fact that it's now been officially announced that Crysis 2 will support DX11. Yay"

lets put a end to all of these threads, since tom is the only guy from crytek on these forums....hes the only guy we can get the REAL info from.no bs from this site or i heard this rumor -.- blah blah blah
is crysis 2 getting dx11 yes or no??
if for some reason you are forbidden to answer, will we find out before the actual realease date??
EVERY single pc gamer wants to know.. dont disappoint, give us SOMETHING

Isn't it weird how Nvidia not only payed Crytek millions of dollars during development but are also releasing their GTX 590 (dx11 card) on the same day Crysis 2 comes out? Weird huh?(wink wink :) )

One possability might be Nvidia trying to market every card it sells as "the ideal card to play Crysis 2 on" at different points in time. But thats highly unethical IMO I don't think it's likely.

Exactly. The 2 million was probably for 3D vision because AMD don't have it. But I heard 3D vision glasses make everything so dark you just end up going back to 2D after a week or 2.

It's a good idea but for some reasons it hasn't been said yet

Perphaps EA does not want to tell people that it doesn't have dx11 because they might cancel pre-orders

Maybe. Anything seems possible at this point. I would think the announcement really will be soon now though.

I dont understand, its not like there are HD6900 or GTX500 series with dx10 dude.. You still gain performance, without ''dx11'' card u probably wouldnt even run crysis 2 in dx9 mode on ur old outdated dx10 card. Unless you use something like SLI or 3way SLI on dx10 cards.

WUT?
Crysis 2 runs just fine on a 8800GT on hardcoe and a decent resolution 1280x1024. And 8800GT is ancient by now ... I even saw it running on a 8600GTS on a playable state at same settings (and i'm talking about the leaked version here, that is extremely badly optimised).

Yeah man, i was playing the Crysis 2 Demo on hardcoe with my old-ass 9800 GTX+. And believe it or not, it was running with pretty smoothly

LOL! 8800GT? I would pay for that much power. On my **** GT 240 (9600GT/8800GTS G80 level performance)
It's running fine on 1440 x 900 max.

There have already been reviewers confirming that the game only supports directx 9 (for now atleast).
(this review is in swedish)
http://www.gamereactor.se/recensioner/26491/Crysis+2/

Of course there is a possibility that this may only be the case in the version sent out for review, but considering the circumstances that seems very unlikely.

I had thought this game would have been built from the ground up to take advantage of the optimizations and features made possible by DX11. It being absent at launch really just comes to show that they're not doing anything to push technology this time around. To add it in a patch makes it seem like an afterthought to me. Something they'll do to have DX11 on paper. I doubt the addition of DX11 will anything more than a minor impact on the visuals the way they seem to treat it.

Guys a patch doesn't mean afterthought.

If you looked through the leaked beta, the DirectX 11 framework was already there...but chances are it was unfinished. The patch will probably fix any bugs in the DX11 and complete it since they are working on EA's gay time frame.

I have the 3D vision Glasses, and the only thing is that you have to put the brightness a little bit higher, but no problem, I use it all the time.
I saw an Interview that Cevat Yerli said that He can't say but Crysis 2 is using the most advanced tecnology so we can conclude....

In my personal opinion The CD's are already being made, maybe they release a first day patch, or one week, they will launch it shortly because of Nvidia advertising campaign.
And The lightning and everything else depend a lot more on the engine (Cryengine 3 is awsome!) than the Dx version

Not answering on this question means NO.. And since there is no any information from Crytek since demo was relesed, they just make crowd angry and they are canceling preorders.. I say, no dx11 - no buying game

My Thread on DX11 was closed.
He gave me a list of DX11 thread.
He claimed that i did not search.
But i did.
And i went to every single thread.
And every page.
But Nothing, NOTHING was said about whether DX11 will be supported.
If it's not, then tell us it. Some may cancel pre-order, but you got your reputation for the next crysis.

My dx 11 thread went in like 10minutes. Am now eager to hear the news. Hoping dx 11 patch will make a bloody significant improvement.
Don't really wanna play a game that uses a 6 year old dx.
Hello crytek? Are you holding a surprise or are you going to dissapoint.

Care to elaborate? What framework exactly? Sounds interesting.

In addition to the

CryRenderD3D9.dll and the d3dx9_42.dll, there was a:

CryRenderD3D11.dll and a d3dx11_42.dll. (And this is presumably DirectX 11, no way to make it work at the time)

But no DirectX 10 files, except one non-workng d3dx10_42.dll inside bin64.

Okay. Thats reassuring but it's not what I was told.

1 question though.

On a 2D screen lining up the target or laser site is easy. You know when it is done because there is no depth between the sight and the target, it's simply when the pixels of the sight are in front of the enemy thats a hit.

But with 3D glasses the sight is in 2 different places relative to the target 1 slightly different pov for each eye. Does this then mean that using 2d display in multiplayer will allow you absolute pwnage of 3 d vision gamers as i suspect.

Or to put that another way do you find it's harder to aim in 3d vision.
