Is there any reason to keep Tomas, the character you find ambushed by Jacklyn who has the necklace of Sasparilla Stars, from having an unfortunate accident?

I didnt see any reason to keep him around. I was right in the middle of the Nipton quest, and about to confront the main villain there and he came running up behind me, "OH DID YOU SEE DAT? that woman attacked me" so i went through the dialogue and got the necklace. About two hours later i am in the wasteland and he comes strolling by right in the middle of a jackel gang shoot out. He had maybe three bars left so i decided to do the right thing and put him out of his misery. I made it quick.

well, he made it seem like he had tons of those caps so i killed him and was sad to find nothing but stuff to repair my reinforced leather armor :wub: plus, i was getting raided by the Jackal gang so i had my hands full :toughninja:
