Tone Down Graphics to Allow Split Screen?

Post » Fri Apr 15, 2011 5:25 pm

So yeah, I recentley asked a question on the forums wether Brink has split-screen or not. I found out that it doesn't. This kinda svcks cause I love inviting some friends over to play video games and having no split screen kinda eliminates that. I'm guessing that removing split-screen is because it is hard for the Xbox to render Brink's incredibly awesome graphics multiple times. Which brings me back to the question, Should Brink's graphics be toned down for split-screen but only during split-screen? Or is split-screen not worth the good graphics? Please post why you voted for your answer.

I hope you mean have them tone down the graphics JUST for when you play split screen and not tone down the graphics in the ENTIRE game.

I wouldn't appreciate split-screen in this game for this reason; this game is an objection based team game. A lot of communication is going to be needed for success. When people are split-screening, they 98.75% of the time don't use mics. and when you are playing with someone who doesn't have a mic, It gets frustrating.

but i guess this doesn't really have anything to do with the topic. haha sorry

In that case, yes. My girlfriend and I would love to play this game together. I was a little bit sad when I found there is no split screen.

IMO splitscreen will always help sales, and my enjoying the game. That being said, I understand that not all games have the capability to do so.

The above goes for consoles, but for PC it really isn't an issue. What would be tho is not being able to LAN.

Sorry, not for the first one since it's already finished.

Maybe for the sequel or next game maybe.

I'm one of those with big family and friends who live nearby and we can't afford multiple games so split-screen would have been awesome. (Borderlands and Gears of War are still my top games because of this).

Not everyone goes online and some of us have to play local if we want everyone to join in the fun---thank goodness for the Wii! B)

I guess not, but one of the big reasons I got my Xbox was to play video games with my friends. Not all of my friends have Xbox's you know.

Tone down graphics... no, you asked for :flamethrower: when you said that one. As far as your concern with split screening, yes I wish they had local games that allowed split screening, as far as online goes though... Don't think that'd fly..

Basicly what Call of Duty games do.

GO AWAY

Jk, I'd love split screen but wouldn't be willing to sacrifice graphics for it. Maybe NEXT gen.

Also a resounding no.

As a note of interest Brink 2 when it happens will likely be in the ID5 engine.

The only reason I ever got Black Ops was because of the ability to do splitscreen online and for that purpose and that purpose only it satisfied me. Smaller screens made sniping impossible but it was already so stupid and useless (and not a big part of BRINK) that I really did not care and do not think it would be bad to implement. My poor little brother feels guilty always bringing down my KD ratio and hates not doing well so it is the only way he can have fun; I have to play with him. But hey if it means more time balancing guns / game play mechanics than @%*& SPLIT SCREEN.

Playing online with friends is fun, but split-screen is much more enjoyable...

The guys who make this game try to bring all kinds of gamers in yet they missed out on split-screen?

And if it meant making the graphics a little worse, I wouldn't care, graphics don't make a game.

But unfortunately no splitscreen :(

I don't play with a mic when I play regular MP - unless I'm talking with friends.

If I don't know you, I don't want to talk to you or hear your voice.
