My tongue's not looking to good.

Post » Sat Oct 31, 2015 8:30 pm

I haven't told the rest of my family (although my dad knows) or friends this but I have a nasty looking tumor on my tongue: http://i413.photobucket.com/albums/pp212/sbcmarine81/20151028_1858431_zpsff3dpzrl.jpg .

I went to my doctor to get it looked at and he's suppose to be scheduling me into getting a Biopsy. I'm a little alerted cause cancer is a high risk in my family.

Well wont look at the pic cause I do not deal with with others discomfort.

also dont really have anything clever or extremely witty to say either.

I do hope you get better and it is not going to slow you down much, crossing fingers for something simple

Thats it

I'll echo the above.

I hope it's the best of possible outcomes.

I'm hoping it's only a benign tumor/cyst, I may not have the body of a Greek God but I do try to keep on top of my health.

Thanks everyone---let's just hope it's a benign tumor/cyst :hugs: .

Yeah it's good you're getting a biopsy for that and what seems to be early too. I've had my share of tongue sores but never anything that big.

I checked the cancer research UK site and they offered a list of symptoms for oral tongue cancer (your tumor/thing is on the oral part of the tongue):

A red or white patch on the tongue, that will not go away
A sore throat that does not go away
A sore spot (ulcer) or lump on the tongue that does not go away
Pain when swallowing
Numbness in the mouth that will not go away
Unexplained bleeding from the tongue (that is not caused by biting your tongue or other injury)
Pain in the ear (rare)

How long have you had this tumor thing on your tongue?

I hope you get better soon whatever this turns out to be :tops: .

I've had it almost a month, next week I go in for a Biopsy and then wait till I get the results in. Also thanks I just hope its benign then there's nothing to worry about, but if the worse case scenario happens---well--I guess I'll figure out something when its time to cross that bridge.
