"Tons of bugs"

Post » Fri Dec 02, 2011 10:43 am

Can someone explain what glaring bugs and errors everyone is crying about?

Calling the game unfinished and such just seems like trolling to me because I have yet to see any bugs. At all.

not complaining about them or anything, but there really are a ton of bugs. atleast on pc.

from the top of my head:
1. random crashes (occurs every 2-3 hours maybe, atleat for me)
2. texture issues. pink dragons, trees and gear. happens alot
3. no face bug. when wearing a mask, sometimes it just disappears and my character doesnt have a head at all. kinda funny really
4. creatures getting stuck in things. happens every now and then. not a big deal

Never seen any of this except when I saw a horse who was supposedly dead half way though a rock.
But that was just funny :D

None of major bugs happened to me ... I can only think of some floating rocks, and when enemies get stuck somewhere or something...

On Xbox I have had very little glitches. Ive had some texture issues in a few spots that clear up in about 3 seconds, and when I do Ice form shout the game lags for about a second. Oh and the trolls have launched me into space. No major problems.

well a very disturbing bug is that if you set your fov at a different value than the default (50), and you go check the map, when you come back, fov goes back to 50

I'm on PS3 and other than the horrible lag that happens after a couple hours of playing, I've had 2 broken quests. Blood on the ice and boethia's shrine. those are the only things that have really irritated me. Other than that I've had minor bugs like floating irretrievable arrows and my shouts not working sometimes.

ups sorry i forgot another one, there is a cave that leads to a word of power that crashes nearly always, unless you play the game windowed instead of full screen.
and i have played the game very little but yeah at this rate i am sure there must be a ton of bugs, which is understandable in such a big game and i am sure it will be patched sooner or later.
So i am not complaining but the bugs do exist

On PC I have had 2 CTDs in about 35 hours of gameplay. Not bad really.

Some minor graphical glitches, strange things other NPCs do around me while in conversations, little things like Hod standing in his yard randomly doing the log lifting animation or someone sleeping so far off the edge of the bed they should fall off it ... nothing dramatic.

Actually so far I've experienced nothing aside from the two annoying crashes that would warrant serious complaint. As a longtime Bethesda fan it's been a pleasant surprise.

"I haven't seen any bugs so it's not possible for them to exist." Derp.

Here's just a few of the fun things that I've encountered and had to fix manually:

- Game crashes to desktop as soon as I start it.
- Automatically detected settings give me an FPS below 20, no change between ultra and lowest settings.
- After finally getting everything to run smoothly on max settings around 45 FPS average, random dragon corpses appear everywhere.
- Vertical mouse axis sensitivity AND game physics tied to frame rate. Anything above 60 makes it all go wonky.
- Shadows look like Minecraft, even on ultra. Have to choose between low draw distance and low quality.

I have a high-end rig. Not the MOST powerful PC, but strong enough to run games like Crysis 2 and The Witcher 2 at max settings, 60 FPS steady. So it's a joke that I've had to deal with even half of these problems.

spectral assassin has disappeared completely, but in active effects it's still there.. Still got to wait 20000 hours for the effect to end, lol.

As for bugs, not really any new ones since I last posted in a bug thread, somewhere.

This game is absolutely full of bugs. Hell, right near the start I found a swarm of dragon flies, I have a bunch of butterfly wings and glowbug thoraxes on my character right now. Heck, I even have a butterfly in a jar. Bethesda really needs to get off their ass and fix these bugs.

I've been playing for maybe 15 hours, and have had only 2 CTDs. Nothing unexpected. I haven't experienced any other bugs. I'd suggest reevaluating your rig if you're crashing to desktop all the time.

Yeah, if you're crashing to desktop in all games, all the time, then yes, you should probably be worried about your PC. If it's only occuring in Skyrim, then it's probably Skyrim's fault. :banghead:

I've been playing for 20 hours and had no crashes and only minor graphics bugs(invisible waterfalls and crap. Restarting the game fixed them). I've seen a couple, but very few other gameplay bugs, though I know more exist. Nothing I've encountered was game breaking or RAGE MODE ACTIVATE worthy. I think a lot of the PC issues stem from driver incompatibilities. It's pretty hard for them to test for every video card out there capable or running the game since theyre using a brand new, in house developed engine. After the first wave or two of patches, I'm sure the major problems will be worked out.

I can't see how a club strike against the ground lifts you up at all, let alone 200 feet. They should instead smash you into the ground or squash you. :P

The only 3 game breaking bugs that I have found are:
1. in the Silvermine prison in Markarth (spelling?) you cannot get out of your cell, easily fixed on pc though (tcl or unlock console commands.)
2. During the quest for the thieves guild (the one where you end up in the room with the giant statue, at work cant think of it off the top of my head. ) my character gets stuck in the cut scene after the dialogue and nothing happens...
3. Not enough finishers...though that just may be my own personal quirk with the game :whistling:

When i load a game next to a dead dragon skeleton it drops from the sky or it just starts moving randomly, enemy's get stuck into walls and can't move plus some minor ones but that is all no major bugs

Dear Bethesda,

I have a serious problem in skyrim on the PS3. I'm level 17 and I can't go further on any mission.
The persons I have to meet or the places I have to go to pursue my quests don't react so I'm not able to finish any quests. For expamle I have to meet with Avulstein he asks me to follow him in battle but he doesn't follow me.
Or in the mission silenced tongues, I have the 2 ceremonial weapons on the door but the door won't open another example in diplomatic immunity, I have to meet with Delphine change my cloths but the cursor just stays over her head.
I also can't buy anything anymore, I can ask the persons to buy stuff but the menu doesn't appear.
I put a lot of hours in it I don't want to redo everything. This is really a drag!
