Too easy ?

Post » Wed Nov 30, 2011 8:20 pm

At default difficulty that is
I don't really mind - but it seems a bit strange.

Health regeneration also is a big surprise to me - only artifacts would give this in oblivion and now you have it right on the plate

Also magick is strong - I am playing a level 1 altmer (as usual) and keep roasting each and every opponent in no time

An overhaul is in order - not that I mind it being easy, and I have played mods for high level characters which were plain crap (just buffed the opponents to a ridiculous point). But somehow challenge is missing

Some people complain that it's really hard to them, others say that it's easy.

Everything is relative to your Playstyle.

Health regen is less effective as you level. Play on master level and reset all your skills to zero at start of game using the console.

Done and done. Now you have a real challenge. :)

Turn difficulty up, enjoy being ripped to shreds for standing in the way of a single frost troll while wearing just a robe.

The game default is set to easy.

I think the difficulty of this game is just right. They really did a great job on this one and its not even fully patched or modded yet

so instead of just turning up your difficulty you want them to rebalance the game for you personally? I'm playing as a Khajitt archer/theif/stealth guy and it feels perfect.

I usually play these kind of games on easy because I prefer exploring and the story over combat, I decided to set it to normal for my first play through, been playing well since yesterday, today I discovered much to my surprise I've had it set at adept all this time, I only checked because I noticed the Falmer were not taking much damage from my bow, can't complain though, I've quite enjoyed playing on adept, with high sneak ,use of the environment and lots of arrows, it's been a blast taking them down one at a time.

Also the game gets harder as you lvl, And keep in mind your playing a glass cannon, at higher lvl you will get one hit as a mage without proper protective spells.

I find it to be really hard. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

So far the only enemy I have been unable to defeat are the Frost Trolls.... Lots of others have killed me but I've been able to figure out how to kill them after I restarted from save... I think the Difficulty is fine on whatever the default option is....

I really don't get these complaints, I've been focusing on maxing out my damage on my archer but I still get my ass handed to me constantly.

Yesterday for example I faced a Vampire Master, he killed me with 1 hit from his sword and constantly cast the drain life spell on me.
I had to run around in circles to avoid him and peek-a-boo shoot him and spawn a familiar to tank somewhat for me.

I faced 2 Ice Wolfs up at a dragon wall and those bastards knocked Sven down directly and then flanked me and double punched me. I barely made it out.

I faced some kind of a ghost with an enourmous health pool, he could cast all kinds of destruction magics so I had to run around a pillar with him and chip away at his health.

Seriously.
Vampires, Ice Wolfs, Giants, Dragons, Vampires, the higher ranks of Bandits, Spriggans, Bears.
They all kick my ass, so I really don't see how the game isn't properly balanced.
For me it's fine, some enemies are easy to kill and I feel boss for having gotten better, but there are still lots of enemies that can and will murder me.

isn't default set on adept? i play one higher and it's good with one exception: i was onehittet by a lighting mage in a random cave with my 380 hp... in oblivion you had to take breton for every playthrough because magic was so powerfull. i played one time as an altmer. got onehittet the whole time. i would hate it to take breton in skyrim for every playtrough to tone down magic albeit the resistance is only 25% this time but still...

Wait! You're level 1 and you are saying the game is too easy now? It should be easy at level 1. No better way to alienate new players to TES like killing them repeatedly right out of the box, especially at default difficulty.

I'd say if you've played TES games before and you plan on making a strong character, set the game to expert difficulty. Killing enemies won't turn into grinding. Quite the opposite actually, combat still feels like it's going very fast. I've just defeated my first frost troll (on the way to hrothgar) at level 12, barely. It feels just right for me.

This. It was the first thing that jumped out in the OP's post. Level one? Seriously? The game is too easy at level one? Oh my...

Exacly, there are bandits, and then there are WAY harder ones, playing on expert and u can 2 hit bandits, but the harder ones will kick your ass

what level are you OP , can't judge a game in the first 5 levels.

I too was thinking it was to easy but every time i start thinking that something turns up and teaches me a lesson . Last night it was a high elf just walking down the road who started attacking me with lightning , swear i died before my sword left it sheath. ALso you kill things very quick as a mage but they can also 1 shot or 2 shot you , so a fight that seemed trivial can be a killer under diffrent circumstances . My mage who i was thinking was undefeatable got kill almost instantly by a sabre cat jumping on him , didnt even get to cast a spell.

I am playing stealth on Master difficulty. So its low hp/armor.

Basically if I can't kill the enemy, they WILL kill me. If I can kill them, they are really easy. If I can't, they are damn tough.

So its hard to say if its easy or hard. The AI is very exploitable though.

I havnt play Skyrim yet, but one thing that was good about Oblivion, that was that it give the player a large amount of diffuclty levels,, witch you could change at any time, so this kind of things was hardly ever any problem. The most games are to diffcult if you ask me, even on the easiest level, my playstyle it is just about experince the story, atmosphere and so on, I dont really want a challange, That is not why I play games

But I realize that everybody want diffrent things, so on the harder levels, it should be really hard, but in generall in games that is not the problem, the problem is that they are hard even on the easiest level.

For a example, COD MW 2, I take that as a example, because many have played that game. There ypu can die from one single hand granate even on the eaiset level. For me, I dont get why is it so hard to make easy really easy?

When it comes to Skyrim I want it to be really really easy when I come face to face with spiders, because I hate spiders, I dont what that fight to last any long time. If I would buy it to PC i could at least hope for some mod that transfer the spiders to beautiful girls.;)

you're a level one and complaining it's too easy?
It's the start of the game of course they're taking it easy on you
I was killing everything with ease but than I met some people who would kick my ass

just explore some more and I guarantee you can find some challenge

When you get out to the world map go to the west towards a map marker that looks like a cliff, inside you will find an Ice Wolf, after it you will face 2 Ice Wolfs, anyone who thinks the game is too easy should face those Ice Wolfs on Master right off the bat.

Why do people complain the game is too easy/hard when there is a difficulty slider. I don't get it.

OMG another too easy thread? You have probably only played for 2 hours and fought a wolf and a bandit. Go to the dwemer ruin's in marketh and see how "easy" it is then come back to us.
