Too many game releases this year

Lots of 3's... :D

Whatever Gamefly drops off/Brink to keep me busy until Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3, Mass effect 3, and Skyrim.

I don't understand all the Deus Ex hype. It looks like a great game, but taking $60 dollars out of your wallet for a game that might last you around 40-60 hours isn't worth it, at least for me. More like a rent.

40 to 60 hours not enough?

Think about it. Skyrim will last most people around 200 hours, probably much more then that. Brink/Battlefield will last people around 140+ hours. Mass effect is around the same as Deus Ex, but its the conclusion to a Trilogy where all your past choices could drastically change the game, so thats adds more time. Uncharted 3, depending on how well done the multipayer component is, could last you around 100 hours.

Games are time-consuming nowadays.. :spotted owl:

The only titles I see in the OP that would make me even think about breaking my rule of not buying a game for more than 50% off are Portal 2 and Skyrim. I am rather certain my backlog is big enough that I won't have to worry too much about that though.

Nope you can't have enough games

Mass Effect 3
Saint's Row The Third
Skyrim
Dungeon Siege III (After Reading reviews 1st)

Those are at least some games that I'll be getting. Definitely Skyrim and ME3 if short on money.

Brink - I might get it.
Red Faction: Armageddon - I might get it.
Alice: Madness Returns - I just heard about it so I have no idea but probably since I love the first game.
Duke Nukem Forever - I might get it.
Dungeon Siege III - No idea, I might get it.
Dead Island - Definitely buy it.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - I might get it.
RAGE - Definitely buy it.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - I'll buy it.
Mass Effect 3 - Hah! Nope, not until it's been 2 months and I've heard what people "really" think about the game.
Saints Row: The Third - Definitely buy it.

I don't buy games for the sake of buying games.
I'm very fastidious when it comes to gaming so if I predict that the game will actually be worthwhile then I'll buy them, don't exactly have a lot of money to just throw around.
So out of these the games I will buy are Saints Row, RAGE, Dead Island and Skyrim.
The rest of the games I will wait a month or two after it's release and then see gameplay videos and read fan/player reviews of the game to decide whether or not it sounds like they're worth getting.

Don't see how you could want every one of those games though.
Too many IMO.

I also had no idea that Hitman 5 was scheduled for this year.

Me neither. Where'd that come from? Hitman is a great series, and I think I'll probably end up getting Hitman 5, but not on the release date.

Well I'm certainly going t be a poor man this year. I'm happy about that though, there is nothing wrong with a bunch of promising games.

I don't think Guild Wars 2 is getting released this year (I keep telling people this, no one believes me, they have way too much information to release yet to even consider releasing a beta this year..if anything we'll be getting it at the start of next year).

I also doubt Diablo 3 is getting released this year (same amount of information (if not more) as GW 2, just about).

But from what is getting released this year, Skyrim is a definite but..most of the other titles on the list I'll probably rent or buy when they are cheaper. Dungeon Siege 3 may or may not be a buy.

So instead of $60 I'll be spending $8 a lot.

I will definitely be getting it on release. I am a pretty big fan boy of the series, and I have enjoyed every game.
They have great replay value also.

I've realized that there are so many good games being released this year that there is no way I'll be able to afford purchasing them all. Take a look at this list:

Brink
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
Duke Nukem Forever
RAGE
Gears of War 3
Batman: Arkham City
Battlefield 3
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Diablo III
Mass Effect 3
Saints Row: The Third

Its not even the fact that I can't pay for all these games. I don't know even have the time to play all these games. Diablo 3 and Skyrim alone are going to consume so much of my time.

Luckily BRiNK is coming out next month so it doesn't have to compete with many of the fall releases.

You're forgetting Final Fantasy XIV. The PC version came out last year, but I imagine they'll do a PS3 release this year.

I'm playing that, and I plan on buying Diablo III. I might wait on Skyrim, just to make sure it's free of any bugs.

(That said, Square really botched the PC release of FFXIV. Hopefully PS3 will be much better.)

You don't have to tell me that I 'missed' a game, it's not a complete list and I never claimed it was. There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of games coming out this year. I only listed major games that I recognized. I don't play FF so I didn't even know that FF XIV was coming out.
