Too much negativity

Post » Thu Dec 03, 2015 2:32 am

My goodness, all I see on here are people moaning about the game? I can't understand it! I'm only an hour in, having exited the bunker and done nothing but clear out Sanctuary and kill some mole rats and bloat flies. And I'm loving it! This game is absolutely dripping with atmosphere! From the dark visuals which have an almost surreal quality, the haunting sounds and the environment as a whole. The story so far is horrendous - and by that I mean it is a terrible thing that has happened and I am utterly engrossed in the resolution - it is brilliant and I can't remember a gamesas game that started out with such a dark and emotional storyline. And the rain. My god I love the rain. Walking outside, hear the rain pattering in the mud. Walk into a shack, hear it rapping against the tin roof. As I say, the game is dripping with atmosphere, has a wonderfully engrossing storyline and is currently up there with the best, in my opinion. I cannot find any negative. I am on Xbox One.

I 100% agree with you although I'm only like 2 hours in and I've just got the power armour I don't get what people are complaining about ? If this game doesn't satisfy RPG fans nothing will.

Good to see some positivity. I think most people are happy about the game though. They are just playing it instead of spending time here, which is natural. Some people will always complain, some of its legit, but mostly its just the same old tune we've heard for years. Which such a big title aswell you are gonna attract alot of different people and that opens up to new complainers.

Those who are happy are playing the game. Only those unhappy with some part of the game or those having problems come here after release.

this typically happens here when a new bethesda game is released. Naturally the people who enjoy and or are enjoying FO4 are not going to be posting their pleasure on the forums here. They are too busy playing the game right now. Not to mention it takes time for people to get used to the differences in gameplay features and content. Few people like change at first.

It has nothing to do with negativity. I just can't play the game without being capable of rebinding the keys to a place I want. They completely excluded left handed players and those using arrow keys to proparly enjoy the game.

Once that's fixed I promise to have just as much fun as you guys do...;)

Btw. if the game is so much fun, then why are you here to complain about the complainers?

I love the arguments that basically boil down to "I've spent a minimal amount of time playing the game and I haven't found any problems with it yet! What are those people's problems?"

Glad you're enjoying the game. Hope you continue to do so.

You'd think after hearing the same old tune for years, Bethesda would learn to fix the problems.

there's a lot of anti bethesda fans, i think the game is great, i'm playing it on the xbox and i'm beyond satisified, i think as more people play the user reviews will go up, right now you have a minority of people being very vocal and its jealousy, BGS knows how to make a game, its a huge world they deliver and some of the complaints are a joke

What tune is that? I was talking about people complaining about the game not catering to their every need. As if Bethesda is making a game just for them and not for themself and say 20 million people out there. Yes there are a few issues with the Creation Engine that should have been squashed by now, but there is so much negativity about trivial issues.

I'm loving the game too! I know I posted a thread about the textures looking bad, but graphics aside this game is amazing! I think the texture thing might be a bug on my end anyway, I need to upgrade my graphics card.

Haven't had the chance to play the game yet, so I don't know much about the game's issues. Apparently the UI still isn't that good on the PC, which was a complaint I saw pop up immediately in Skyrim. And I've heard other familiar problems, such as being released in a less than acceptable condition. Both of those are repeated refrains from Skyrim's release (if not further back), meaning that they're part of the Same Old Tune, but I don't think that invalidates them as complaints.

I'm just supposing that if, release after release, the same complaints get brought up time and again, they could very well be legitimate grievances. Your wording made it seem you felt otherwise, particularly with your lack of any examples, and on that generalization I'd have to disagree. The fact that they keep cropping up wouldn't make them illegitimate. If anything, issues not being ironed out over multiple games would make the grievances more legitimate in my opinion, because after hearing about how much they screwed up over and over again, you'd think they'd improve in the next iteration, and not seeing that improvement would be more frustrating than the initial failure.

Well i am only working from information i have recieved by my friends as i haven't played the game yet either. I do trust them though, but my flaw is that i forgive and forget easy. Not everyone is there and its healthy to ask questions and give feeback. I just wish some people could go about it in a better manner. Going to play the game now and see what it brings. You do have a point though and a great post.

I wouldn't call a 19Gb download trivial ...

Edit: I fully expect to have a great time playing Fallout 4. Tomorrow. When I eventually can get to play it.

Sorry, but struggling to determine what parallel world you exist in. This is a TERRIBLE Fallout game (equal in badness to Brotherhood of steel - which u will find MOST Fallout fans speak not of).

It is not in any way an RPG, but merely yet another excuse to satisfy the FPS fandoms in the world. (As if they don't have enough to choose from).

Simply re-designing an otherwise perfectly good, non broken spec system and making it more minimalistic does not make a game an RPG. Having a rep system (as seen in F1, F2, F3, F-NV but not in Fallout 4) and/or complex character build options (also in F1, F2, F3, F-NV but not in Fallout 4) and/or a diverse story line (you get the idea), those are what makes an RPG.

In essence - An RPG = Character Development, Diversity and for the dedicated RPG'ers building a character to fit a back story + Diverse and branching story with reputation and effects + Thought out and planned combat system.

A FPS = Run around a map, rapid mouse / stick movements to aim in bad guys direction + mash trigger a to unload ammo into bad guy / mash trigger b to hit bad guy in mush, gain xp and move on to next bad guy... (rinse and repeat)

That pretty much describes what Bethesda has finally done to Fallout 4.

About two hours in and so fat the game environment and lighting is beautiful. No framerate problems, no bugs or glitches. The character animations and graphics could have been more refined but it's honestly not that much of a problem. Witcher 3 still has terrible looking hair and sometimes the animations are wonk but I love that game still.

It absolutely pisses me off this game is getting blasted because of graphics....

Also, I want to add that the soundtrack is incredible and very atmospheric - Well done Inon Zur

Id say its more than undestandable that people moan. Some of us preordered a game and have yet to make it past "play" because of crashes. If you payed 90 bucks for a game that didnt work out of the box, Im pretty sure you would be miffed.

Im a patient guy so Ill give them a few days to fix it, before I get a refund.

Oh, and the voiced PC and dialogue wheel is a very nice implementation - Though the AI pathfinding does leave a lot to be desired....Codsworth

Remember folks that if you have trouble with your game, you go to the games official forum and tell all about your troubles. That is really part of what this place does. And thankfully that is how information is gathered and bugs and issues are patched and improved.

So, try not to worry about negativity just after release. Just be glad there is a place to report and explain. And if you aren't experiencing problems or bugs or issues...enjoy.

But let's at least be sensitive to those who are experiencing issues.

The only issues I have are bugs - especially with companions getting stuck. But other then that, it's a great game.

I guess that is something we will have to agree to disagree on. No I did not think F-NV was particularly good. But at least it was still Fallout at its core meeting all the elements of an RPG (even if it had a terrible story - only made tolerable by having the Core traditional Fallout Mechanics and later with DLC).

That's normal on a game forum. Doesn't matter which game or company, people come out just to bash the newest game, regardless of the genre or if it's deserved or not. Kinda sad because it makes it hard to read about the actual issues.

The same old tune of Game of the Year game after game. If I was Bethesda, I don't think I'd be sick of that tune yet.
