In your opinion, what are the top 5(or any of the top 5) Elder Scrolls quests(from all Elder Scrolls games)?

I liked Vaermina's Daedric quest in Oblivion. It was very creative and different. Various Shivering Isles quests were also generally more fun than regular Oblivion's quests.

Any Morrowind quests honestly don't come to mind at the moment. I guess it's because I haven't played it in a long time.

  • http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Zainab_Nerevarine, dressing up a slave to pass off as a high telvanni lady was very creative.

  • http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:A_Watery_Grave, Sneaking into a private ship via. being carried unboard while hiding in a crate was a fun twist.

  • http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:An_Unexpected_Voyage, Awesome experience. Sleeping at a ship inn, only to wake up on the open sea because the ships been hijacked!

  • http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Shivering:The_Lady_of_Paranoia, loved being an investigator with torture methods!

  • http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Unearthing_Mehrunes_Razor. Nice long quest full of surprises.

In no order.

Lifting the Vale - Blew my mind that I was visiting a place that had been lost for centuries and had such rich lore behind it.

The Ultimate Heist - Capital!

Whodunit - For obvious reasons.

Hircine's Hunt - Awesome.

Umaril the Unfeathered - Lot's of lore behind the battle.

Probably my top 5, although a lot of The Shivering Isles quests were done very well too.

The Ultimate Heist - probably the most epic quest in the whole series, in that it has a lot of tense moments, a prolonged sneak through obviously hostile territory, and the fact that you're stealing an ELDER SCROLL!

Whodunit? - Never the same quest twice. There are something like 120 possible orders to kill people in, and sub-plots to make it even less certain what will happen!

Ghosts of Vitharn - nothing complex here, but I like it.

I'm not sure the "Bal Molagmer" questline counts as a quest, per se, but as one poster has used it as one... YES.

Then I'd have to say "The Skaal Test of Loyalty", since "Aevar Stone-singer" made quite an impression on me in Oblivion. Getting to go back and act it out felt... awesome.

Well, Oblivion is the onyl one I have played enough to rate the Quests, I have not played Morrowind all that much, but here is my list anyway.

1) The entire Knights of the Nine Questline (excluding the Pilgrimage): It was fun to become the leader of a holy order who fight's evil and defends honour.
2) The entire Oblivion Main Questline: Dispite being a little cheesy at times, the overall quest was fun and challaging with a good story.
3) The Pilgrimage: I have to have this one on it's own. It was so fun traveling to a diffrent shrines to each Divine. You get to see diffrent parts of Cyrodiil and it honestly feels like an adventure... Providing you don't fast travel or rush.
4) The Battle for Castle Kvatch: I enjoied helping the
Spoiler
survivors fight back to regain Kvatch after the Oblivion Gate send the Daedra to attack the town.

5) Seeking your Roots: A fun long quest where you get to collect plants. I found this really fun travling all over Cryodiil looking for these little babies. I like collecting things.

No particular Order

1. The Ultimate Heist , the only quest where sneaking was tough and quite nerve racking. I remember the shaking in my feet.
2.Arkngthand- exploring the Dwemer ruins were quite fun and slightly mean when a door killed me. I had to trouble finding the puzzle box thought . :)
3.A Liquid Solution - loved Knotty Bramble a lot , combination of man made and nature made dungeon crawler.
4.A Better Mousetrap- messing with adventurers was quite fun see them go mad
5. Lifting the Vale- The lore , the castle just priceless.

Vaernima
Trippy, surreal, creepy
Telvanni Hortator
Telvanni Eccentrics. What can I say?
A Better Mousetrap
This one was just plain fun.

There are 3 that are way way better than all the others...

The Ultimate Heist - Pure. Epic. And I loved being able to go way way way inside the palace and all of the underground bits.

Whodunit - Because it's not challenging, it leaves a lot of space for creativity. There are a zillion orders and ways of killing everybody - so fun.

Sheogorath's Quest - Hilarity. Just...it's just pure hilarity.

After that, it gets harder to rank. I really like the Knights of the Nine questline, the Shivering Isles questline, the Main and Dark Brotherhood questlines, and all the quests where you get to go to really hidden places (The dream world, the painted world, the icy meadow thing in the Tears of the Savior quest, etc.) just because it's awesome going to other places. Oblivion quests basically pwn in general.

lifting the vale - if its akaviri i like it :P

miscarcand - a really nice long dungeon clearing quest. i found ayleid ruins quite interesting and the way it was incorpated into the main quest was done very well

symbols of office - this was a great quest!
Spoiler
getting to fight myself was fun! and the reward of shadowrend was awesome!

the knights of the nine questline - i just loved the whole story, it was really in depth and dificult at times! the lore aspect was well done as well

The Oblivion Main Quest
Spoiler
When Martin became the avatar of Akatosh, I muttered "Martin..." under my breath, and was horrified to watch my character's friend turn into stone. I tried pressing space-bar on the statue to make Martin come back feverishly, before I was interrupted by High Chancellor Ocato. It was such a moving point of a game, because there was nothing I could do to stop it, but it almost felt like there was.

The Sunken One
Spoiler
It was just creepy, and scary to think that through the whole time you're going through the cave... The Sunken One may have caused all of the Burning of Kvatch. Thinking you may have to face a power greater than the will of a whole city... spooky.

A Brush With Death
Brilliant, I never would have imagined something like that existed.

The Ultimate Heist
I did NOT expect
Spoiler
Ayleids

No Stone Unturned
I left that quest, and made an amazing Welkynd Stone themed home. It was so inspiring and mysterious

Can I include a 6th...?

Caught in the Hunt

Poor guy.

Aw... I didn't even get to do my favorite Shivering Isles ones... :sadvaultboy:

Oblivion:

Through a Nightmare, Darkly
Creative

Scheduled for Execution
Breaking and entering is the best. Especially if the reward is to kill Valen Dreth.

Knights of the Nine
My favorite questline in Morrowind and Oblivion.

Tears if the Savior
Can't say why... I just enjoyed this quest a lot.

Zero Visibility
You can imagine my bewilderment when I saw a garden hoe moving by itself.

Morrowind:

Man Without Pants
Hainab stole my pants!

What Comes from a Little Matze

Raven Rock
My second favorite questline

A Ring and a Prayer
The Amulet of Shadows is the best

Someone Wicked That Way Went
Awesome.

Overall:

Knights of the Nine

Raven Rock

Someone Wicked That Way Went

Through a Nightmare, Darkly

Scheduled for Execution

It will take me awhile to come up with a list for Morrowind and Oblivion, but the most memorable quest I can think of is "Journey to Aetherius" in Daggerfall. That was so awesome at the time!
