Well, I know I have much more melee kills than with any single weapon. But if you add my weapon kills together, it's definitely more than my melee kills. Dunno what that makes me.

Not sure what it makes you, probably just smart. its disappointing to read that, but far from surprising.

I have almost 17,000 total kills (vast majority SCAR), with about 750-800 melee kills. I have much more kills with the scarab and feline than melee. I detest melee in just about every shooter game i've played. Battlefield 3 does it pretty good tho.

I hope that Crytek are paying attention to these statistics (and many many others I'm sure), and when they make Crysis 3's multiplayer, they realise they are making a First Person Shooter, not a beat 'em up

For weapons, I have my primary that goes before my melee, and my melee that goes before my secondary. In order of priorities of use.

I believe Crytek made melee to be a part of the game. For me, it's around 50% of my offense. It's a lot, but it's a part, and I always remember that. Some people don't.

Some people use melee as 95% of their offense. I could name two, but I won't. They found a glitch to make melee powerful to the point that it is unstoppable. Okay, great, but that still doesn't make melee your primary offensive weapon. It's still just the same old melee, that was made to be used under CERTAIN circumstances. Not all circumstances.

They even said they were playing the game for 'fun'. Hah, if going 100% all the time with the most abusive class is fun, then I'm Jesus Christ.


Oh, and by the way: THINK ABOUT THE PLAYERS YOU'RE KILLING.

If you run around getting killed instantly without any chance to retaliate, would you consider the game fun? Think that you're part of the reason for this game's unpopularity.

Good points Pie, i respect your stance on the issue. i too tend to use melee before my secondary but only when someone is rushing me (and I know i will die if i dont) or if my mag is dry and they are close. I do make an effort not to use it out of principle

i don't know why developers keep putting melee into shooting games, I think most would be much better off simple removing it. i think the Stealth 'Spectre' takedown should remain for humiliation kills, but Crysis 3 would be much better by simple removing the gun butt and fists

Well Sunny, I think it's in there for the option. And maybe to make the game more interesting?
I don't care if it is removed/nerfed in crysis 3, but I would like to be able to smash aliens' heads in for single player.

I was mainly refering to MP, SP can go nuts with it for all I care lol. I don't think normal melee in MP has ever made a game more interesting, the stealth ones from the rear I like, but the gun butt/ fist should go

That said, Battlefield 3 has an acceptable melee system because you are actually vulnerable when you do it, in C2 there is no vulnerability in melee because there is virtually zero recovery time after melee, expecially with the switch tactic

We need to adapt constantly, melee is their greatest power but it's also their greatest weakness.

Just thought i would answer the question to the original post...Here's my personal opinion on the top 10, all have the ability to take over matches at any given point and can adapt to all play styles...Would be hard to rank them 1-10 so my list is in no particular order...

OP sorry for taking your thread off topic. To answer - I couldn't say 10 players, but I did play a guy who was really good, his name was something like NEO*TOKYO ...jumping around shooting players with the MARSHALL.

DanMay16 svcks, another melee glitcher. He said he wouldn't do it in another game against me and a few others, he went 14-11 before he started going around glitching again. Also some of the players you mentioned haven't played in quite a while...
