I have my own TOP TEN

10- Game Has an Ending
9 - 1:1 Timescale
8 - Starting as a Child
7 - Save Game Erasure on Death
6 - Save Points
5 - Simulated Bodily Functions
4 - Multi-Player
3 - Guns
2 - 3D
1 - Motion Control

I'm interested to see what the community thinks. We can fit 10 more ideas into the poll so lets have 'em if you can think of other bad ideas.

I know this thread is largely pointless( so spare me pointing that out) but what else do we have to do until new info is released?

1: NEVER! want to see guns in elder scrolls.
2: Can't stand 3D
3: Starting as a child wouldn't bother me too much, not going to happen though :)
4: I want to continue after main quest,we know this is the case anyway
5: Simulated Bodily Functions: Depends, being sick from drinking too much or a disease is acceptable....going for a dump....No thanks.
6: Not to keen on save points.
7: Motion control, wouldn't be awful ,but thats something further down the line, but i will be just as happy if it never came about.
8: I have a few friends who love oblivion, they always wanted to hook up with me....i used to agree it would be nice.
But now ,i think it should be left as single player only....the only thing that would be good as multiplayer is arena fights. But overall keep it single player.
9: Sorry, not sure what you mean by the 1:1 time scale,do you mean 1 game hour is 1 hour in real life?
If the answer is yes to that, then i'm not sure,i think the game would need a bigger map size for that.
10: Save Game Erasure on Death : If that was a toggle option i think that would be fine for some people,i would try it.
11: Fast travel: yes i went there. Morrowind fast travel = yes, oblivion fast travel = NO!
12: Hate quest markers that wipe your [censored] for you. I want directions from NPC's only and a compass for North, east, south, west etc,not a compass with flashing lights, pointing me exactly to the quest location, down to the nearest blade of grass.
Ok,thats not ten,but still. :)

One thing you forgot was Steam req'd. I'm sure that would get plenty of votes.

I'm sure it would but that is not a game play feature. Besides there is a poll on the first page that clearly shows us how the majority feel.

Those aren't bad ideas though. Good or bad those are existing features.

Hey, didnt the Dwemer have some ununderstood ability to communicate over large distances?
Its often been called telepathy or even an oversoul, but perhaps its more mundane and they used radio.
Interesting.

My opinion (based on ingame fact, of course) is that the dwemer exploit magical energies and utilize them via crude electronic principles. The dwemer were said to be masters of engineering, they are engineers exploiting magical energies to power mundane technology. IE: Electricity obtained from magical sources, and steam robots fuelled by magical fire.

Quick Question, what does Save Game Erasure on Death mean?
Though good poll, I had a hard time choosing, though I don't really care about guns, I would just mod all of them out anyway, though I can see it as a really bad thing for the average console player.
And to me SavePoint would be the worst, if it is what I think it is. I like being able to choose, and I save a lot. I literally save every time I walk down a hall. In Fallout 3 I saved more than a few hundred times before I made it to the GNR Building!

Think it is that if you die your save game is deleted. A truly idiotic idea and clearly makes it on top. Having you start as a child with a gun and riding dragons sounds far better.
Savepoints would also be totally annoying.
1:1 timescale if the time is equal with real time sounds almost as stupid, but hard to do as it would disable sleeping and waiting.

Agree with you here, it would be a display setting you could turn on and off anyway since very few people has 3D capable displays. Doubt it's possible anyway as it would take up lots of graphic resources and this game is pushing consoles as it is.

And I lack cliffracers in the list, cliffracers with guns, and you have to use the motion control to try to hit them.

Now that I have been thinking, the Save Erasure on death would also be bad, so much that I will just cheat to make it so I never die, and I hate that fealing in games of no challenge. Also I would ultimately hate multiplayer. Think about it, modding would no longer be allowed, because even if the areas are only generic, what about armor or body mods or races? And no modding would be horrible, so much I wouldn't even buy the game. Then Oblivion will be my first and last Elder Scroll Game, as the TESVI is a while away and might be the same.

How would it disable sleeping and waiting? The time in your current game is 30:1 and that is the length at which time passes during normal game play (un-paused and outside menus) compared to real time. Even if time passed at 1:1 in the game it would not negate the sleeping and waiting insta pass(sorta, it would be like 600:1) of time which is a menu mechanic.

Doubt it's possible anyway as it would take up lots of graphic resources and this game is pushing consoles as it is.

Precisely why it's a bad idea, optional or not.

One idea on this forum was not only 1:1 time but time in game was equal to your real time.
So if you played from 20-21 a night all shops would be closed. If the time was equal waiting would not work as it in game time and real time would be different
a 1:1 time without this would work but the ingame time would feel to slow for me.

changed my vote from motion controls to guns. I really don't want those in, they hold no place in this series.

The worst idea ever: The game ends. I WANT TO KEEP PLAYING!

Also, why is everyone against multiplayer? I don't exactly think it will destroy the franchise. Everyone's got their opinions.

I chose multiplayer. There are enough multiplayer games on the market. It is very hard to find decent SP only games now a days. SP games are able to be a lot deeper than multiplayer games.

i don't want multiplayer in skyrim, but if they want to make a separate game about it, sure why not.

Guns hands down is the worst idea for Skyrim or any The Elder Scrolls game.
It's so rediculous that I almost reached through the screen with a gun and said "You want guns in Skyrim, huh?" then smack them in the head with it and go back into my comfy chair and spam them with this emoticon:

Cheese wheels with a slice taken out of them. I mean the person who is going around, taking one slice of cheese and moving onto the next should be punished.

People only want 3d so it doesn't seem like they've wasted thousands of dollars on a TV with a blurry picture. Cut 'em some slack. :P

But romance and guns are high on my list of terrible ideas.

I don't think the starting as a child is that bad. If it a choice anyway. I'd personally love it and hope there will be a mod that allows it.

Yes it's pretty evil. However you can repair them http://www.funnyjunk.com/funny_pictures/566066/Oblivion+Alchemy/

Agreed. It's got potential, and frankly, the opening of Fallout 3 was awesome. If a little long.

Absolutely Awesome. I think this topic would work a lot better if people stopped trying to defend the ideas they liked. This is a fun topic and if the idea is here than it got enough negative feedback to be here. I have seen the threads on these and if they aren't locked within 30 seconds it becomes 10 pages of the OP saying it should be in and everyone else saying no. Just say what you hate and why, then skidaddle lol. No need to get the most fun and non-depressing thread on this board in a while locked by starting a flamewar.
