Topic posts only please, On after life

Post » Thu Jun 20, 2013 2:01 am

Okay so my main question is, and lets stay on topic please, where does a persons soul go after death.

I know this is a big subject but lets say im looking for more than one answer for instance

Were do vampires go

Your difrent daedra worshipers

Your mutiple daedra worshipers

The dunmer and the tribunal/3 good daedra

Athiests of diffrent races

Nine or 8 devine folowers

Our ancient elfs

Our ancient nedics

Ect.

This is the one subject i cant seem to understand and begs a question say in skyrim im not a dragon born but i worship all the nine , or all the daedra and prehaps become a werewolf or a vampire... Now i am conserned for my soul. Answers please and any in game books that can be helpful as well are apreciated.

That depends. Were they devout Daedra worshippers? If so, then they would presumably go to that Princes plane.

If the person was almost anyone else, then their soul would be recycled through the Dreamsleeve (basically reincarnation) or perhaps go to Aetherius

Presumably their soul is claimed by Molag Bal, their creator. Cyrodillic Vampires seem to have a pact with Clavicus Vile, so to each their own I suppose

Well, I think that if they're devout/zealous enough then they would be claimed by that Prince. If you're just a "casual" worshipper then its the dreamsleeve for you

More than one Prince? Not sure, but chances are you favor one more, or one of them pays more attention to you. The one that actual gives a [censored] about you would probably get you. And again, passive/casual worshippers are recycled through the dreamsleeve

They seem to beleive in reincarnation

Atheists dont exist, you can choose not to worship a god but you cant deny their existence. For these non-religious people, they would likly go through the dreamsleeve and be reincarnated.

the Imperial pantheon seems to beleive in going to Aetherius as a sort of "heaven" where they go after death

They worshipped the same way as the present people do on Nirn. Nede's likely believe in Sovngarde

Aldmeri belief seem to believe in reincarnation and some sort of enlightenment through Auriel.

EDIT: Remember to use the forums search function. This question is asked far too often

Vampires to whatever Daedra Prince is the dominant influence to their clan (Clavicus Vile for the Cyrodiilic)

Daedra worshippers to their respective princes, if the prince wants them, otherwise dreamsleeve.

Multiple daedra worshippers: The relevant princes sort out the matter amongs themselves, if none want the soul in question then dreamsleeve.

Dunmer/tribunal worshippers: Either bound as a ancestor guardian or dreamsleeve.

Everything else: Dreamsleeve.

As a general rule, unless a god claims your soul for its own, reincarnation is the name of the game. Upon death, your personality and memories are purged as your soul is recycled through the Dreamsleeve and the blank soul is planted in a new body for a new pass at transcendence.

Daedra worshippers go to the realm of whichever Prince they are most closely aligned with or who has the the strongest claim to their soul. For instance, if I worship both Boethiah and Sheogorath, but I'm stark raving mad, I'll probably end up in the Shivering Isles. But if on top of that I'm a werewolf, Hircine gets dibs. Vampirism likely works the same way for Molag Bal.

The Dunmer house the souls of departed family members in shrines and ghostfences, so their consciousness remains on Nirn after death to continue serving their House. Ditto for some Imperials, though in that case they keep the souls of their ancestors in moths (the primary duty of the Order of the Ancestor Moth is caretaking the fragile vessels- reading the Elder Scrolls is a secondary concern that they took up because their connection to the wisdom of the ancestors gives them special insight into the future).

Atheists get recycled.

Followers of the Nine believe they go to Aetherius to party with the Aedra for eternity, but they likely get recycled since the whole conflict between elves and man stems from the severing of their connection to Aetherius- if returning was as easy as dying, there would be no living Altmer. On the other hand, "Aetherius" may be a pocket realm of Shezarr for Imperial worshipers, similar to Sovngarde's purpose for Nords. Generally speaking, afterlives are a pretty Daedric/Padomaic concept- stealing mortals away from the Aedra and the natural cycle (see the Monomyth, "Shezarr's Song"). But then, if Mankar Camoran is right and Lorkhan is daedroth, then it would make sense for him and his aspects to have afterlives as well.

Ancient elves got recycled.

Ancient nedes got recycled unless they went to Sovngarde.

Like a recycling plant for your soul. You pass through it and get reincarnated.

On the subject of recycled souls are souls race bound? For instance a bosmer will return a bosmer. Asuming that race isnt entirly wiped out like the dwemer

I see and i guess souls are still being created as well assuming there are more living people now a days than there were in the merithic era and so on, correct me if im wrong my last question is what is it assumed the existence of the souls that are waiting on a new vessel to be born is like? Id assume that they are lifeless and have no conception of time and just in an instant find them selfs in a new body in a new place with no memory of there former self without Devine knowledge either given or achieved. Again correct me if im wrong

Judging by the fact that the Nerevarine can be any race, I'm going to say no (though the lingering question of whether he was a true incarnate muddies the waters somewhat).

Specifically...

"There are far more souls in the Universe than there is room for in the physical world. But it is in the physical world that a soul has an opportunity to learn and progress. Without birth, souls would not be able to acquire that experience, and without death there would be no room for birth." -http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Ark%27ay,_the_God_of_Birth_and_Death

And what is the existence inside the sleeve like? Or is it no existence at all like a sad lifeless vortex

And besides this ^^ to wrap up my curiostity i would say someone who was proud of themself and wanted to be themself after death would strive to be claimed by one of the gods and continue being them self or with the same mate for eternaty in a "afterlife"

Whitby Abbey.

Different Daedric Princes.

Yeah, right, like Daedra would tolerate that.

Fencing.

Cosmic Mixed-Material Recycling Facility Known as Sleeve Sanitation.

Same.

Niben River-bed.

Somnigarthus.

I came across a bit of info, if one serves sithis in the dark brother hood is his soul guaranteed to go to sithis ? "The void" dont seem like a fun guild to be in after that does it?
