So who exactly are the C.E.L.L.? I know there isnt much info but I would like to hear some theories as to who they are. Feel free to share.

They are Crynet Systems special ops soldiers, and from what has been released, their purpose in Crysis 2 is hunting the Nanosuit2, for a reason which is unclear. Its also to give a variation to the enemies, so its not just non-stop aliens. My theories on this are that they unwittingly gave Chuck Norris the new nanosuit, resulting in more choas then when the dinosaurs died, or that they just feel like going for a casual manhunt to test their skills, slightly like how Predators earn their respect.

I'm guessing, the Black ops of Crynet, who solely work in a different division under them without the jurisdiction of the Us Army. Since they might have contracts.

And the most probable reason for CELL looking for Alcatratz is because Prophet stole the suit from them, went on a rampage and then found Alcatratz lying pwned in a pool of his own blood, completely and utterly owned. Prophet puts the suit on him so he doesn't die and so he can continue the fight and now Crynet are hunting him for it. Another reason is because the nanosuit is actually part alien technology and so Crynet are hunting him down for it themselves.

Problem is the suit isnt that simple to take off....

therefore, using the suit to stick the toast butter-side up to their backs,

They could then use this infinite spiral to power their robots and take over the world.

It is you job in Crysis 2 to stop this by any means.

Prophet stole it, Crytek have said in plenty a thing that prophet stole the suit and gave it to alcatraz theres some proof here http://www.rifters.com/crawl/?p=1739

^Therefore alcatraz couldn't have stole the suit, it says someone gave it to him.

What bothers me the most is that the cliffhanger at the end of crysis will not be a main part of the story as i heard so far. All the true Crysis Fans will get some familiar faces and thats all. Nomad? Sykes? Helena?
I will be really pissed if Crytek killed anyone in absentia that was alive at the end of Crysis just to get space for Morgan`s "new" epic story. And i will be even more pissed if this is what the comic is all about!
Like: oh ****.. we forgot to told Morgan about the ending of the first Crysis... ah never mind lets make a comic out of it..
This cliffhanger was one of the most teasing ones for me,,, and it was even more teasing to have warhead ending before the ending of Crysis takes place.
Iam 4 real this time... there will be no excuse acceptable for me if the story doesent "perfectly" closes every storyhole form the first title. Otherwise the whole game should just be a console exclusive as it will have nothing in common with its predecessor then.

Most likely crynet, They could be trying to get him, working with him or anything. All we know is that prophet gave alcatraz a suit to save him and that crynet are hunting now hunting Alcatraz down. +The 3d trailer isn't an actual level or anything.

But it gave a a huge amount of questions relating to the story...

i think prophet may be in command of C.E.L.L but he's making them search for Alcatraz to get them out the way whilst he does some mysterious stuff. hmmmmm
