DX 10,11?

Post » Mon Jan 31, 2011 10:32 am

So iv'e been asking as well as looking around for some answers about why Crysis 2 does not have Directx 10 and 11... Some people told me its going to come in a patch and other's have no dam clue..

So im just curious now on if there is actually going to be Directx10 and 11 or if its just going to be in DX9.

Yea, some rumors do state that DX11 will come later on. Hope they dont screw up the performance with their implementation though (Dragon Age 2...). Personally Im not too worried.. think the game looks great.

Why are Crytek not releasing any information of this? Its just damages their reputation and fuels paranoia, bad for them, bad for their customers and bad for their investors i.e. Nvidia.

It's funny you should mention that, because I'm willing to bet it could probably be run ok on a high clocked Pentium D, as long as the objects and physics were on whatever settings "high" gives you.

Not that again. Why do you think it doesn't have DX11. Why even bother.
Well DX9 is old they don't use it. For high-def gaming you need DX10 as a minimum(DX9 may display in 1080p full HD display but it's not high-def).
It also depends on your card. You can't force a DX9 card to run DX11 games.

Also I see people do crazy stuffs like using dedicated physics card with non-physics card. It may improve physics in your game but it degrades performance. Also you can't use SLI or Crossfire in that position.
