The only way to do that is by capture cards, or some form of recording device.

Cool, I often record games on the PC using fraps and movie making software.

I would also like to record games from the 360 but was wondering which would be the best way, is there anyway to run a 360 through a computer to record the game play.

I was thinking about running the HDMI straight into a DVD/HD recorder but it would record in the wrong format, which would be hard to edit properly.

This would work for black ops, because it has it’s own match replay and editing tool built into the game, once you save and edit it you simply replay and record the HDMI source.

There must be a way to record live games from the 360, we see in game footage all the time on IGN and other sources.
