I heard about brink from xbox's upcoming games list.

I did research on the game, and BRINK looks to be a major hit.

As of today, i play only Halo reach / Halo 3.. Im in the top 10 players on halo 3, and already in the top 50 in halo reach.. Both games had gamers up to 300,000 online.

After watching trailers for BRINK, i have a understanding of this game as a blend of Halo Reach/ Halo - COD - Mirrors Edge. Am i correct.


Im preordering this game next week, and cant waite for this game to come out.


Halo Reach is great, with a team that knows what their doing. such as 1 person goes for sniper, not 5 people and then the person who gets the sniper gets betrayed by another teammate because they wanted the sniper.... And in Halo Reach, if your a big fan of camping and waiting for someone to be in the rigth spot at the right time, Camo & DMR is sweet.



Im not a fan of COD, to many hacks and glitches and thier parent company who makes COD does not care about their multiplayer community... Halo Reach / Bungie, if they notice a hacker and or glitches that makes the multiplayer experience [censored], they will permently ban you from XBOX live/ revoke your gold membership... and im a supporter to filter out any hackers or cheaters that have an advantage over you.




Mirrors edge was a sweet game with little action, at least the demo... I loved the style of jumping in the game... only if they invested what brink's investing into their game, mirrors edge would be a bit sweeter.




This is my 1st post here, i ask for no flamers/ trolls.. Im here, im an advlt... and ask for response's that are postive.. any negative comments will be looked at like your a kid/loser/scrub.

If you want to get a feel for what this game will be like, try playing Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory or QUAKE Wars, that will give you a feel for what SD does.

I dont think BRINK will be like Enemy Territory..

If you are an advlt, how about you change your username to something less annoying. Other than that, it's cool to have another person on the forums to chat and play the game with.

honestly, i don't think brink is a blend of any games. we make them out to be a blend in order to familiarize ourselves with something new.

- 4 classes
- "endless" character customization
- team based objectives
- SMART system
- hyper realist influenced art design
- original and real sound effects

there's alot more than that going into the game as well, those are just a few of the easily remembered features.

Well, I'm sorry then, but my opinion is that your artistic way of spelling Florida bothers me. However, I cannot really add any focus to a topic that is just an introduction to the forums. Nobody is going to talk about how you are on the top of those left playing Halo 3. We're not going to have conversations about Infinity Ward ignores their horrible cesspit of the foulest of humanity that they call a community, while Treyarch does what it can to help. We also are not going to discuss things Mirror's Edge could've had. It's a Brink forum.

I'm not trying to troll or flame you, but perhaps the best way you could've joined the forum community is by visiting the info compendium, or starting a topic that could offer some new discussions. I don't want any hostility, I'm just openly expressing my complete thoughts.

So, whats your gamertag? That's a pretty impressive pair of achievements.

The game will be similar to Mirrors Edge in that it has parkour, but Splash Damage has done their best to simplify the controls to the point that you wont think about it. This is very unlike Mirrors Edge, because that game was based around parkour, so they made the controls somewhat skill based.

And the game will be similar to W:ET, but only in the sense that it is heavily reliant on objective based gameplay, not on getting the most frags.

I'm not really sure what part of the Halo franchise you see in this game, the only similarities I see is the fact that both are FPS's. I imagine due to your experience with those games that you would tend to compare any FPS to them. Same with CoD.

You can make comparisons between brink and various games, but calling it a "combination" of those games seems incorrect to me. It may share elements with other games, but it is its own entity.

i find the artistic way of spelling florida a bit.... for lack of a better word, childish. Yet, it didn't dawn on me to retaliate with harsh words. Krytt is actually a pretty good contributor on the board, real knowledgeable about the up and coming, ya seem to have stroked him the wrong way from the start.

simple as that really, it's an objective based shooter, only resembling cod by being a shooter, same could be said about halo imo. and it only resembles mirror's edge, slightly, in the way of movement. parkour.

other than that i'd say Brink made it's own genre

Yeah. I really can't think of a game to compare. Just like there is no game to really compare Borderlands to. It's a one of of a kind game that I have been super excited since August/September-ish. This game looks really good, and its the only game that I am really excited for this year.

I was going to try and clean this up but half the posts either contain flames or as responding to such posts.


Flaming isn't acceptable on the forums, and if people are misbehaving it's best to report the post rather than get mucked up in it yourself.
