Not sure what the K-[number] means, but the ratings I expect are as follows:

ESRB (Or the American rating system) will give it an M rating, whilst PEGI (The European rating system) will give it a rating of 16.

I think it will be 16+, though I'd love it to be 18+. I'd like it to be more mature and darker than the past ES games.

I'm wayyy over all those age limits, but i'd prefer if it stayed at 16 or T in american. No excessive gore, language or six (as if we'd have to worry about that :D).

Those can modded in later :P

My parents let me play all games under K-18. So it would be great if Skyrim would be K-16 or K-12.

//God I'm happy if PEGI gives K-16!

40+, so virtually only the moderators and old Andy will be able to buy the game. :P

Seriously though, ratings will have no effect on me purchasing the game. I played GTA when I was 10, and look how I turned out - I've only killed 3 people as of yet.

I honestly don't care. I'm not sure that I like how some of you are crying for more gore. Think, is it automatically a better game if people bleed more? Or if it has a well written story, quality controls, and hundreds of hours of content?

TES will never be a game that has a mature rating, ever. It's their bread and butter game and they will make sure that it gets no more than a Teen rating.

I thought it'd been confirmed to be an 18+ already.
Regardless, I don't mind if it's 16 + or 18+ I will be able to buy it no matter what. ^_^

I just hope they make the game and let it get rated whatever it gets rated instead of changing parts of it to get a lower rating after submitting it.

No, it's darker and more brutal. Well written story, good combat and a brutal world would make the ideal ES for me. Even if you look at the lore and how the game plays you know that the world is meant to be brutal. I like how there are tons of monsters, necromancers, undead and the game has no gore, at all. Not to mention the norse mythology influence that this game seems to have. Brutality must be in the game in the form of combat, survival and gore.

K-18 here in Germany when it's all cruelity, brutality, blood and viscera, with outright pormographic content.

K-16 when it's not so much blood, and dark themes, ... and a bit of decent sixuality or nudity.

The Rating in Germany is very strict towards the depiction of extreme violence and/or cruelity.

Hoping for an M rated game, because of the freedome it gives the developers.... the freedome they need to make what-ever-the-[censored]-they-want...
Im not in it for the boobs or gore (ok the blood and gore are awezome! boobs too :D google em ) but i would like to see it as a tool to making the game better and more realistic, and to set the mood of the game...

I really don't care about any ratings like these. They're different per country anyway, so whatever these mean they're pretty meaningless elsewhere. The German rating people for instance get very nervous when there's violence, and any blood will get you a max rating, but they're much looser with nudity or sixuality then for example the US rating people, who hypothetically speaking get nervous when a nipble shows through cloth.

I don't really care what rating it gets, and I don't think Bethesda should aim for any particular rating anyway. As long as they make a good game, the rating doesn't matter to me.

K-18 most likely. But who cares, kids are gonna play it anyways

Ha. When I saw this thread, I expected some sort of conspiracy theory -- thoughts the numbers above were something out of Lost :)

The game's rating won't be determined until it's submitted to the ratings board

The trailer it 18+, and it showed us a wall. That's most likely because the game is 18+.

EDIT: Gstaff proved me wrong.

So you're saying you aren't aiming for a specific rating?

ESRB rates practically all games 17 plus. Which really, really svcks because it makes it more difficult for some people to tell if they should buy a game or not. Halo:Reach shouldn't have the same rating as The Chronicles of Riddike. I wish there was a 16+ and 18+ ratings.

18. I don't know about all these fancy ratings, but I want it to be 18. I think the American equivalent would be M?

I WANT dark setting, I want realistic* sixual references, gore, etc.

* - By realistic, I mean characters aren't constantly wanting six, or Fable style "six scenes" that caused by palm to heavily connect with my face.

Seriously though, TES has always been about a realistic working world (please, no "jokes" about magic and elves...), I want to see a believeable world as I enter the game.

Oh, and none of these "tradition", or "what the series is about" comments. Daggerfall was an M game. It had nudity and sixual references, and it didn't manage to make me painfully sigh at the idiocity.

Daggerfall is also one of the greatest benchmark games Bethesda has released.
