I've been lurking around this thread for a while now, and, though I have absolutely no idea what half of this is about, it looks stupidly cool.
I'm really looking forward to these 3d clouds.

Keep up the awesome work.

Thank you people =) I generally don't answer without an update of some kind but today I just simply felt like taking in some gratitude ;) (nice comments etc).

I've been mostly playing with two of my main inspirations for Modelling atm, which is Final Fantasy(Models/textures in general) and Just Cause 2 (landscape)

Ever had MW give you Vertigo? Well, if not, I sure do hope to be able to get that feeling from this.

IMPORTANT NEWS UPDATE:

At 08:30 this morning Banana corp bought the rights to the project and all it's assets and we are now discussing about relocating to a bigger cellar. This means any resources produced exclusively for the project will not be released to the mod Community. Banana corp would also like to invite Vurt to come work for them because of his exquisite work on flora. Read all about it here: http://i43.tinypic.com/35k8uh3.jpg

Sorry for the inconvenience and finally we are very excited to finally be recognized for our hard work.

Truth is atm that is none :P

But i'd still pay something for all the years you've stuck around =)

Well, April 1st is over and work is back to normal. Experimenting with vertex painting to make crystals even better. Still lots of stuff to do before I'm happy with the crystal look.

Well, replaced all rocks, still not 100% happy with them tho. They will probably see a future update, but these are waaay better then the vanilla rocks. This also means that there is not one hint of MW meshes left in this project atm and probably will not have in the future either:

Those mountains look fantastic! I'd love to get my hands on them for the project I'm working on.

And you will! I have a bunch of technical stuff to make(among them some clouds, more mountain meshes, proper crystals, some landmarks) and then there will be a first landscape test release, from that release anyone who wish may borrow any of the textures/meshes I have created for the mod.

Well I've never seen a mountain like that in real life, but I want to :o

Well, I agree maybe they are not all that common :P In a world that is not even close to as old as our own, I suppose these "tips" would occur more often. As far as seeing it IRL, well, you'll have to settle for your computer screen or other alternative visual peripheral.

News:
Made yet another try with making crystals, this is yet another approach, I can feel how I'm getting closer to what I want, still needs a lot of work, it's looking very pretty tho:
http://i41.tinypic.com/2116iaa.jpg
Also redesigned area slightly, some ugly meshes removed, and refined some places:

Cheers! =)

The colourful blue crystals and red-veined rocks look amazing against that grey background, it really makes them stand out.

Yeah, sure feels like that as well =)

This is epic:D

One of my ambitions with the mod is to really show off MGE's capabilities, rendering stuff MW can't. So yeah, epic as in huge stuff for sure!

Keeps getting better and better...and it started out great. ;)

Haha, I'm learning as I go to cope with the tools I have at my disposal.

Interesting work so far :) You're quite creative, Mire. Forgive me if this has been already asked, but will this require MGE?

Require no, however things will look a bit off i would imagine. I have not tested the mod without MGE yet and I can not say how some things(especially one large mountain) would look without mge, i expect it to look very weird/glitchy.

If there is any(I'm pretty sure there will be eventually) any specific MGE effects will be contained in it's own ESP so that people can still play without MGE, its' just simply not advised.

Hope that clear things up. I should add it to the FAQ on the first post.

And my creative comes up and goes down from time to time, right now it's mostly a desperate attempt to pass time trying to not go insane because I met a girl the other day, love you know and stuff :P
Many things have also inspired me recently, Heavy Rain, FF13, Avatar, Just Cause 2, looking through old documents I've written for this project so that helps as well.

I'm also thinking about getting another job, I'm not very happy with my current line of work, some of my alternatives of what I want to work with and where I find it most likely to be able to get a job requires me to really freshen up my skills so that is also a huge reason.

EDIT:
A bit whacko and weird and will probably change later, but this is my first attempt at making a tree mesh, ngPlant style: http://i40.tinypic.com/2yuzwua.jpg

Nice work on the cloud mesh, great idea!

And the tree mesh is interesting as well. Very dystopic.

The girl is driving you insane hmm? At least that's what I gathered from your post. I can relate. My wife drives me up the wall sometimes (not that I never do the same to her ), but I never stop loving her. I hope you've been lucky in love friend.

-Good luck finding a new job, I just landed one recently in Wisconsin. Moving again!!

-Anyhow I digress from the more pertinent subject of Morrowind :bolt:

Heads up! I plan to release that which I have tonight, it is yet not the time really but I feel that it's better you guys can tear it apart all you want then the possibility that I will get less creative for a few months and you'll have nothing to look forward to because all we know you have no lives except this :P all pun intended.

It's very rough and unfinished, quite beautiful at spots, a number of test meshes and some textures. All at your disposal.

I don't feel like I'm gonna quit being creative any time soon but It's just in case, also might be nice to have a backup on the internets.

Cheers!

It's out!
(check first post).

Read the instructions, otherwise it might be difficult getting past the first room. There's also an Error, ignore it (have tried to fix it, just haven't been able to).
If you want to help, criticism, mainly on keltrock area, meshes, resolution, textures framerate? Anything you think would improve what you see already, try to keep it graphical or bugfix related, so that it is focused.

Also I wanted to be a bit further along before but I have to start, it would simply be more fun to bounce some ideas and work together on some things. So here is what I'm looking for:

*An additional 3d artist
-Know his way around one major modelling app (blender, max or other reasonably compatible software).
-Know his way around Nifskope.
-Excellent texturing skills.
-Excellent problem solving skills.

*Concept artist
-Capable of drawing the fantastical, current inspirations or themes that match: Fairytale gone wrong, Final Fantasy, Avatar, Epic, Clive Barker(fWeaveworld), alt fantasy.
-Preferably landscape artist. Will work on creating unique locations, also testing color/mood etc.

*Area Designer
-Knowledge of how to work with the CS, a must.
-Excellent level designing capabilities, should know how to copy meshes, switch textures, etc.
-Keen sense for details(cluttering, etc)
-Ability to take an idea from concept to realization.

*Tester
-Excellent knowledge of the expected behavior of Morrowinds and preferably MGE's graphical engine.
-Keen eye for quality and consistency of the mod.

*Groupies
-You know who you are and what your mission is :P J/K.

It's ok if I wouldn't get any of the above, I'll keep on working when I feel like it anyway :P I'm just saying... It would be lots of fun!

Can't help you with landscape--I'm still learning my way around Vue--but if you need concept of people, I'm a pretty talented artist in Poser (see gallery link in my sig; even have a couple Elder Scrolls images there) should you be interested. :)
