Mods can kill. I hate to say it but your saves might be doomed.

Sadly, eventually I came to a point where I forbid myself from downloading any more mods so that I could actually play and enjoy the ones I've got. I've had the experience before, so I know how crappy it is. :cryvaultboy:

Post your mod list, and if necessary, report moderators to move this thread(to 'Mods').

You're probably going to have to reinstall. Next time around get a good mod manager or two. They can let you configure mods for each of your characters, and uninstall anything that gives you grief instead of joy.

I recommend trying one or two mods at a time, rather than installing them in big chunks. (Assuming that's what you did.) That way, it's much easier to determine what mod is causing the problem, and solve conflicts. I speak from experience. :P

Try my guide since you are reinstalling. (See my sig for the link.) I am trying to make it as new user-friendly as possible. Please post in the thread if you have problems following it.

Don't reinstall just yet. First, post your mod list. See if we can help you.

Add the http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/walkthroughs/baininstallguide/downloadrequired to your load order, and make sure you have all of the requirements for the Xenius Race Compilation installed. My guide starts here if you decide to start over: http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/walkthroughs/baininstallguide/uninstallob. Your load order is pretty simple, so you should be able to work it into a very stable setup. What are you using v3 of Robert's body? Anyway, make sure your load order is correct too. Run it through BOSS. Grab the downloads (BOSS and the DLLs) and read http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/walkthroughs/baininstallguide/installutilities.

Your saves will be preserved, but the saves may be...bad, not corrupted, but you would not want to use them. I can tell you how to import their faces after you reinstall, however.

Awww...Let's see if we can fix your current install first. I need to see the actual plugins. Have you tried running BOSS? Post your load order with one of the methods linked above after fixing your LO with BOSS (also linked above.)

its done now, its not really a biggy i guess, some were new characters and well the other ones id played to much :P
but i think with the mods i should leave it to the experts so basically ive uninstalled, and reinstalled and its all good.
now the mods i wantt to install are

-robert male body replacer 5
-xenius race compendium - requires HG EyeCandy Body, Roberts Male Body 5, Oblivion Patch v1.2.0416
-fantasy figures
-gloria and trish armor

problems
im not sure if HG EyeCandy Body and Fantasy Figures clash or do the same thing, if so i dont need fantasy figures
when installing the oblivion patch i got this message
"old file not found. however, a file of the same name was found.
No update since the file contents do not match."

Do you have the UOP now too? That compilation also requires the UOP OR the custom race fix. (I really recommend the former.) Yes, FF and HGEC are both replacers for the female body, so you have to choose one. You need to look at the Robert v5 readme to figure out how it is packaged. It is not too complicated, but it takes a nice OMOD script to do it the OBMM way. I could write one for you... I do not know about the armor mod, but most of those have a straight-forward installation. Just run BOSS whenever you add plugins to your load order, and you should be fine with that simple setup.

Edit: Robert's v4 plugin is very similar to the v3 plugin, so if you do not have compatibility problems with v3 and the Xenius mod (which I assume does not modify the Vanilla races) then installing v5 is no big deal. There is an average version of the v5 body which you can find at TesNexus, if you do not use the muscular body. (Search "v5".) The muscular body is the only version in the v5 Beta that has been released. The average version depends on the main mod, by the way.

it says
"old file not found. however, a file of the same name was found.
No update since the file contents do not match."

so what to do
the rest i should be able to do :)

That means that you probably installed a beta patch at some point and now the patch does not recognize the setup. Are you using GOTY or SI? If not, then you need to reinstall Oblivion. You will not lose any data. Your saves will be there. It is not that big a deal. Follow the instructions in that guide through Part IV, reinstall your mods and continue on your merry way.

The official patch will not install? Are you using the GOTY version? If so, it is already patch. If you are using SI, you only need to install the latest SI patch.

The patch automatically figures out the Oblivion directory. Did you perhaps not do a clean uninstall? In the way I suggested in the linked page...

Have you tried a different install directory?

Edit: Are you using the English version of Oblivion and the English version of the official patch. A localization mismatch could cause your error. I am reading the http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=561101&view=findpost&p=8103718.
