Why must we not incorporate this in as an option?!

Gears of War did it and among others! This is just becoming an idiotic reason to NOT have woman characters available. It wouldn't surprise me if someday it becomes an issue and some women attack this thought with a rights movement on games without women in it. That said, this is in a way sixist and should be applied in games no matter what.

P.s.
Im a married man with a gamer wife. She won't play because there is no character to enjoy it with. Congrats on not offering an option for all.

( When upon reading this post please notice that I never said anything about SD or any one affiliated with them. I am not saying this to have it applied soon as possible. This would be inconsiderate of me to say it needs to happen soon, when at all possible this should be understood. It is simply put as an overall standard on playable women in games )

Really??? Really? Do you know how many threads have been made over this? Next time use the search bar!!! There is so many that could awnser your questions instead of you making another useless thread about this!!

Other games like gears of war don't have as much customization as BRINK does, now does it? It's not as easy as slappign a pair of briasts on a male character and calling it female. It would take way to long to make female models, new archtypes for females and other things.Do some research before complaining about no female models in BRINK, i know quite a few woman who don't mind that it is not in BRINK, tho they would really like it if it was in, but they can't add it. Mabey in a sequel, we don't know.

Pisses me off people still complain about this, someone needs to sticky one of these threads.....really...

EDIT: How is not having females being sixist? there are games with no males, you don't see me saying that's sixist and wrong. They did not have enough time or resources to add females PROPERLY. They wanted to add female characters and make them right, or don't make them at all. So don't go accusing SD of being sixist for something so stupid unless you actually look into it before complaining.

/End topic >: (

why do you want women character so you can put them in small cloths and just stare at them in character screen all day?

Geez.

Why would I go searching for something I was curious about? It was just easier to keep track of it on my own post. For every time a person wonders about something, you must assume they will look around first then if there actually is nothing about it, actually create a post. This seems redundant, if you ask me.

I thank for your concern though. I am glad you think that kind of comment would really matter. Go ahead and select no, I wouldn't put past you. Good luck with your life, sport.

It would be nice, but they said that we would have had less customization if they did...
Now it's too late because this would be a huge addition to the game... kinda like a small part of a whole instead of an 'addition'.

So yeah :P Hopefully by BRINK 2 they will fix this, for now let's focus for the game we have in mind right now.

Uhh, because making multiple threads about a topic already being disccussed is useless and just spams the forums with threads that will be locked by a mod because there is already a thread just like it. If you want to ask a question, quickly look in the search bar, it takes seconds of your time. such as "No females in brink" or "why is there no females" or "where are the girls" or something of that sort, if you cannot find anythigna t all in the first one or two searches, then by all means, go ahead and post. if you find 30+ topics of the exact same thing, thats a sign that its been asked, discussed, and answerd enough times already. That is how the forum works.

BTW, i did not vote at all because its useless. I DO want woman in BRINK, i think it would make alot of people happy. But the fact is they cannot do it for multiple reasons, and i rather have girls that look like girls instead of guys with briasts. And your logic is very is that if you don't like woman characters in a game your a sixist. As you have accused of the developers of being. Even tho alot of them are woman. "NO. (i don't want woman playing, its only for men)" That is not what everyone thinks at all. "Mabey (i don't get it)" i don't understand what that one is about. "Yes (it would be awesome to actually play with woman)" Yes it would be awesome but we cannot and you just seem to be raging about sixism. Woman will not revolt because a video game did not have females, no one is sixist because a game does not have females, and no one hates females.

Speaking of which, relax, SD is not being sixist... They were being considerate... and with how this game is right now, they did the right thing.

I'm pretty sure that for now this game is a pure experiment (in my mind) of a new idea put forth to the market... most of the issues with the game will be fixed and hopefully perfected by BRINK 2.

No, hopefully they will all be fixed and perfected in BRINK in a upcoming patch because i did not pay $70 for BRINK to be an experiment.

Experiment of an IDEA, not the concepts that every game runs on. The idea being objectives. You understood me incorrectly there.
It will not be perfected through patches, I guarantee that. I'm sure they will fix the lag, the other numerous problems of this game, and add additional content.

The next game should in turn, establish that from the beginning with a much firmer grip, and hopefully bring more to the table (i.e. female characters, new ideas, etc)
I don't know how much patches do, but I'm pretty sure that they cannot change the game entirely...

And $70? You got ripped off... I got mine for $40 ;D

Please add a "stop making repetitive threads about questions that have been answered multiple times but some people are to lazy to type the words 'female characters' in the search bar" option

There are very few games that do include female characters...why does everyone assume Brink should have them, if it is standard for first person shooters to not include females...

Because BRINK has boasts that it has alot of customization, and people think that if it has alot of that, why not females. And then thats when they think their either sixist, lazy, or not as good as gears of war or any other games that has one single female in their third sequel or whatever and they instantly become awesome cause they have girls and it becomes a big deal. Seriously, people make a big deal over girl gamers nowadays like they never existed before they added a female to a popular shooter. Ive know plenty of woman gamers before any of this so now, to me its so odd to see everyone acting like their aliens.

I very begrudgingly picked the "NO (I don't want women playing, it is only for men)" option, it's pretty [censored] one-sided.

Adding female options would be a HUGE stretch and a strain on memory, we probably wouldn't have half the options we do now for males.

Don't worry, I'm sure this thread will be followed up with another asking for TDM or CtF game types in Brink. Ignorance may be bliss but it's definitely annoying for the rest of us.

EDIT: Ninja'd on the annoying comment.

My best friend's wife loves playing shooters ever since Doom on Playstation, she would love to have an option like this.

I also find it a bit funny how so many actually take offence to this request each time it's brought up, games like Quake 2, Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament allready had this option as a default way back when.

I don't have time to clean this up right now - but if you don't want to meaningfully contribute to a discussion, simply don't post in it.

It's also us Moderators job to police these forums. Please don't dictate terms to other members. (I find that sort of behavior much more annoying than making any sort of thread.)

Yes, there has already been a lot of discussion on this subject here. But members may still discuss it, so long as it's done civilly. The last one of these had died out some time ago - so there's no problem with having a new thread and fresh discussion here. When we look for duplicate topics, as Mods here, we generally consider three or so pages back as "due diligence."

Lastly, if you can't advise members in a welcoming and civil manner, there's a good chance you'll soon be looking at hearing from us before long.
