I mean where he says something of the sort of BO-SKA-JOO or at least that's what I hear.

Yeah that's what I meant. More like Russian than Germanic, but listening to the theme music, the language the song is in does a good job of not trying to be an emulation of any one language. It's more like an amalgam of a lot of influence. Only the manliness is distinctly Nordic

Game doesn't take place in Scandinavia, Nords are not Vikings, doesn't belong in Skyrim.

Pro tip: reading titles and the first 7 words in a post is not enough to hit the 'reply' button.

In your case, we covered all the bases in your smart little post as early as the OP, except for your opinion that 3 optional letters for player names is something you would not need. Duly noted.

ZING!
Sorry, I just had too. I agree that they should be in, even if I in most cases wont need it. It can't be that unreasonable too ask for, can it?

I read them, but I'll try to be less flippant this time. I don't feel they need to add stuff like this, they spelled the Nord character names and mythological names out in Oblivion and Morrowind without those special characters so I don't know why they would suddenly add them in. Personally I am against them adding in elements that start to reference real world history, the Elder Scrolls series has a dense and well thought out mythology, adding in stuff that lands on the side of "Nords are just like Vikings" would detract from the fantasy world. It's just my opinion.

I approve, since there's no separate ¨ in qwertz unless I'm mistaken somehow. :D

OK, this is perfectly valid and I completely understand. I would however like to add that most people would never see these letters unless they actively tried to put them in. It's just supporting a little extra.

I'd prefer they left it out, despite being scandinavian I don't really feel our local letters fit into TES, I'd rather they have their very own made-up alphabet in that case.

Oh they would totally replace all the standard characters. Even in the voice acting. (Actually, that would sound a lot like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-mOy8VUEBk actually spoke if you removed the few consonants they do use)

God please no, I want to be able to understand what the NPC's are actually saying, not incoherent mumbling as if they had a hot potato stuffed down their throat ;D (that video is pure win btw ^^)

Really? Do you use in in-game keyboard or the dashboard one? I only ever play FIFA when with a bunch of mates so I have no clue how it's done xD

With the pop-up software keyboard, I there was an additional page of symbols that has special letters like these. Can't remember which version of FIFA it is, I played it passively in the military (yeah have your laughs)

Thanks. :D I'm thinking of adding a "no way" (->Norway) joke since it's been a while since I saw one. You should have seen the thread this was posted in. Marvelous.

On the subject: although I can happily approve of these ideas, I'm wondering what keyboard layouts this game will recognize. I don't know if it'll recognize anything other than US qwerty, probably azerty too (not talking about localized versions).

á T D ó í ú Y é
á t e ó í ú y é

I believe the OP forgot about these (along with ?/?) are from icelandic, icelandic is precisely a modernized version of ancient norse. take ancient norse, add a few letters into a few words and like make as complicated a language to write down as possible and you've got icelandic.

Different pronounciations of things are funny. Like the word ghoti, using the gh is in "cough", the o as in "women" and the ti as in "action".

Pretty much all of your posts are about how much you love Norway lol - It's getting a bit boring tbh. But as for this topic, I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to call your character whatever you want. If those letters are not included, may I suggest 'NationalPride' or 'IbumNorway' for traditional sounding Nord names? :P

Haha I'd totally go for those suggestions!

But seriously, sure, why not? It's not like it's going to bring Bethesda a lot of work, and it sure as hell wont ruin the gaming experience for anyone.

I think OP want too be able too use them for naming characters. I don't think it is too much too ask for.

I love how you keep mixing up your "to's" and "too's". But your "selvdefence" topped it all. It's epic, T. I love it.
