Toris Saren must die?

Post » Tue Aug 23, 2011 1:04 pm

Hi, I'm faced with the problem that I'm a member of both House Redoran and the Morag Tong. Now the Morang Tong asked me to kill Toris Saren, one of my fellow Redoran brethren.
Of course I know that I could just taunt or frenzy him and nobody would care, but I'm trying to roleplay some kind of super-honourable Dunmer knight who would never do such a thing (but who is looking forward to the Hlaalu and especially Telvanni writs ).
Is there any way of avoiding this writ, preferably without cheating, and to just continue with the next writs? I already completed the other writ for the rogue ashlander Odaishah Yasalmibaal.

If I were to be roleplaying such a knight, I may just exterminate the Morag Tong for threatening a fellow Redoran.

No no, you see, he's some kind of lawful neutral or maybe slightly lawful good guy (helping the poor and defending the weak and all that stuff). To him, the Morag Tong is just doing their duty in carrying out the assassinations issued in the wars between the Houses. That's the ancient Dunmer law and completely OK with him, even when it comes to a Redoran being assassinated. He would fight the assassin to protect his fellow House brother or sister, however once the deed is done he would not seek revenge on the assassin or the Morag Tong but on the person who issued the writ and on their House. Nevertheless, it is obvious that he himself would decline any writ for a member of his own house.

Hence, any advice in the matter would be greatly appreciated.

I'd role-play it off as this: He had to do something bad or dishonorable to manage to get a writ put out on himself. So, he has not only brought shame upon himself and his family, but the entire house Redoran. For that he must be slain.

Whether or not he actually did something terrible is of no consequence. Since I don't think you ever learn what the person did to get a writ on them, do you? So just role-play it was that.

Well, not necessarily as far as I know. The Morag Tong is no law enforcement unit. Maybe someone just wants him out of the way. But I guess that's the most reasonable rationalisation if I am going to do it.

Yeah, they are not "good guys" by any means. But they are sanctioned by law. I was just saying you could RP it like he did something dishonorable. You could even go so far as to decide it was something against you or your family/friends if you need more reasoning.

Hmm, good point. Guess you're right. If there's no other way that's probably the best rationalisation.
