If you have cured being a Werewolf DO NOT accept any of the Totems of Hircine quests. These quests are still available to you but require you to access the Underforge to turn them in. Curing being a werewolf removes this access and it is irreversible.

Aela comes with you on the first quest and since you cannot access the Underforge you cannot get rid of her, dismiss her, kill her or swop her for another character. To make it worse she only lasts around 2 hits before she is downed and you cannot trade her any gear. She also ruins any sections where you use stealth as she gives away your position every time.

This potentially ends any other quests which require a companion to join you.

I had her with me for hours before I went to the Underforge to hand this in and found out the hard way. Now had her with me for 30 hrs and she is such a burden.

This is a re post but I have no idea if it falling on deaf ears, I appreciate Bethesda cannot respond to all messages but acknowledgement of the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Please add a fix to an upcoming patch where full access to the Underforge is granted once it is opened regardless of Werewolf status.

I have the first quest open and its glitched as hell, I got the werewolf totem but now she is gone and not marked on the map so I can't find her to turn it in. I can no longer use a companion. I just checked the underforge but she isn''t there, I have no idea where to find her. Complete pain.

I completed the quest with no issues, just cannot access the Underforge to turn it in, I feel your pain about the companion, such a good game burdened by some widely left open major bugs.

Yep. For me the quest is open and the objective is "retrieve the totem of hircine" still and unchecked as if I never got it and no map marker. It didn't register me getting the totem somehow, and Aela dissapeared completely. The totem is just titled "werewolf totem" in your inventory right?

Yup, that's the one.
