Town Population Adjustment
1.0
by dopey fish

TES NEXUS: http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/44196/

Very basic mod that moves town NPCs from their homes into their town exteriors, and locks up their residence. This populates the towns better having more NPCs roam about, instead of keeping them confined in their homes.

Very basic mod that moves town NPCs from their homes into their town exteriors, and locks up their residence. For some towns it's pretty drastic, like Sadrith Mora which didn't have any townspeople, for most it adds a couple more NPCs to walk about. Unfortunately there weren't any NPCs to move for Suran, so that town still remains empty, I also didn't touch Vivec for similar reasons. These will require new NPCs which may be an expansion of this at some point.

I'm thinking of moving some of the ashlanders in the main camps out of their yurts too, so that may be an update in the future.

In Suran you could move some of the NPC that stand in the tavern and in Desele's bar. Actually, you could also make a clothed version of the dancers, who would hang out in the streets during the day.

There's a couple NPCs at the tradehouse, but it didn't really have a lot to work with. Desele's patrons' dialog is pretty specific to that bar, so they aren't a good candidate either. Most other towns have commoners tucked away, yet Suran doesn't have any residences.

I did play around with adding generic NPCs to Suran, though it'll take me some time to warm up to them, haha.

The first thing that crossed my mind was wondering how it might interact with Starfire's NPC mod or jac's lite version of Starfire's NPC mod. In some areas like Balmora, FPS can take a very big hit with all the things Starfire's NPCs are doing. Another thing I've noticed in say Caldera with the Starfire mod is that NPCs seem to clump together in the area in front of Irgola's shop after awhile.

It should have little impact script-wise, though it may bog down graphically the more NPCs on screen.

Haha yeah that can still happen in Caldera, NPCs will sometimes clump together or follow each other unknowingly. Not sure if it's a pathgrid thing or just an AI thing, but it seems like AIwander isn't all that sophisticated for random pathfinding.
