Some people dislike the map. I want to say bravo to whoever made those towns ; some are such mazes it makes exploring everything very difficult!

Yea...it does seem like every street and every ally looks the same it is hard to navigate at times?
Well it is modular environment, so basically there are dozens of bulding parts that are reused all over the place, enough to make you feel you are seeing different buldings, but still able to confuse you.
Ever been to Boston? Just the way the city's arranged. The downtown area of Boston in particular. It's the anti-NYC as far as grids and ability to get lost are concerned.
^^ So true. Going from east to west in this country you can see how people learned to build more organized cities. The (north) east is a mishmash of meandering chaos and jug-handles while the farther west you travel, the more grid-like, clover-leafed and organized the cities become. Boston is a true mess - from an organizational point of view, but extremely cool from an historical one.
Absolutely. My favorite "Downtown" area of anywhere I've lived, easily. Those cobblestones!
As somebody who has lived in both cities for many years:
Many real world places are mazes,
If you drive an big truck, don't trust GPS, real world.
Fallout is set in an warzone who makes Syria look friendly.
FO4 is way better than FO3 here, note that real world might also fool you in suburbs. Shortcuts might nos save time even on foot.
It really gives me a sense of the maddening east-coast urban mazes H.P. Lovecraft enjoyed describing in his stories.
No wonder you easterners all go loony.
