Never heard of it, which means it is probably way outside my budget area.

Crytek will never do it. They will use the Sony Move and Kinect before they use that.

TrackIR is usually used for sims ( i.e. Flight Sims like Black Shark ). You wear a tracking device on your head that measures your head movement. So, as your flying, you can look out the window, look around the cockpit, and use things like TADS recticles to designate targets without having to use your hands. They use it in Arma2, but I'm not so sure its that useful for 1st person infantry. However, it would be useful when flying the helicopters ingame.

The hardware needed for realistic flight sims can cost as much as a computer itself, so probably not many people here have heard of track IR.
