Trailer Man

Post » Sun Nov 07, 2010 5:55 pm

Call me a noob, phony, fake or whatever else your dark hearts can conjur, but, is anyone else playing as the Nord from the trailer? Yeah, i know, im so dumb, but seriously, the dude fits in with the game perfectly. I mean, i'll customise him to a certain degree but i think he's pretty damned cool. I think i'll call him Aeiron (Air - ron). So, who else is doing this? (yes, i will make more characters later on.)

I'll make someone similar to him for my first character, but he'll be an Imperial, not a Nord.

Something like him, but with two-handed weapons.

I'm just wondering when they'll update the Elder Scrolls Title background at the top of this page by placing the Nordic Dovakhiin where he belongs... alongside his Dunmer and Imperial cousins.

Ill either make a Breton named Uilliam LaRouche, and if Bretons look stupid in SKyrim, then it'll be a Nord. I don't know of any cool Nordic names though, am gonna have to do some research. (I take my names seriously... very seriously)

90% says I'm an Argonian for my first character. And damn, he'll be in light armour. So, basically nothing like the character you see in the trailer.

The other thing that I'm really interested in is magic (Altemer, Breton). Probably won't make a Nord till at least my third character.

Now, i am in no way trying to sway you, but lizard vs lizard? Come to think of it, fighting cougars as a Khajit kind of freaked me out to...

I'll be playing a Dunmer, unless Orcs are awesome this time instead of...well, you saw them in Oblivion, in which case I'll play an orc.

I don't really get where all the self-slandering is coming from, jeez. Calm down. No one here is calling you those things you called yourself in the OP. What is this, middle school?

Despite the state of this place right now, this can be a pretty decent place with reasonable people...emphasis on the word can.

I love you OP. You are a nice and pleasant individual. No need to beat yourself up over doing nothing wrong. Now stop all this self-deprecation before it starts annoying people (hint: It already has).

Now, I wont make a character exactly like the trailer, because one thing I really like about RPGs is making your own character with a variety of different contrasting and complementing skills. I might do something like make that guy if I do subsequent playthroughs, but not for the first one.

Its "Conjure" not conjur :) like this! :obliviongate: and he may fit the game but come on, i like my characters to be beautiful (not pretty, not cute, beautiful) females, or horribly battle scarred middle aged/old men with long hair and great beards!

I have no intention to play as him, no. It seems to me to be kind of a waste to play as a character created by someone else when the game gives you so much freedom on creating you're own, besides, the character is doubtless a Nord, and I'm not really a big fan of Nords. I mean, I don't mind interacting with them as NPCs, of course, but they seem kind of boring as a playable race to me.

Still, there's certainly nothing wrong with playing as a character based on the one in question, you don't need to call yourself unpleasant things because of it, it's just not something I'd want to do myself.

You guys are starting to convince me. After all the last two games (yet to play I or II) i was a Dunmer. I think i ought to continue that tradition.

Overreacting much? Geez, people are being alright here. You were the one who brought up the not being imaginative idea in your OP. Do you want people to troll you?

Let us be civil, please

EDIT: Not trying to be rude, really, but that's the sort of thing that happens when you come in assuming people will hate you and telling them they're going to do it and explaining why.

I was originally planning to be a nord just to fit the setting but first I want to see if they changed the dark elves from OB I hated that they all seemed to be prissy city folk rather than the devout temple followers or badass vvardenfell warriors we knew from morrowind, I know they are supposed to be from a different place but man was I disappointed.
