Trains in the mountains

I sure hope most of us agree that even if TES 6 would take place 10 000 years from the events of Skyrim, we don't want trains or guns or modern technology or flying cars.

A flying car would be nothing more than a carriage with 6 or 7 filled grand soul gems. With constant effect Feather and Levitate spells, then some kind of magic dial to graduate the effect. That would certainly be expensive, but not impossible :)

This is what I'm talking about: in high magic settings these kinds of things just aren't as far out of reach as one would think.

The Romans had internal plumbing, and to this day nobody has ever made concrete that is as good as theirs was, and we still don't know what they did to make it so sturdy.

lol, what a load of bull***!

Actually that is exactly what I mean, in a high magic setting technology doesn't need to evolve. Why would a flying car need to be powered with oil when it can fly the magical way?

If it is done magical and not into a steel-construction, it would be cool. Flying carpents anyone? :D (i'm not serious on those ones though)

Hello! I was just thinking about skyrim ( which I've been doing for a loooong time) and considered the many ways of transport there could be implemented.
Looking at countries like Switzerland who have mountains with vast tunnel systems and the reappearance of dwarfs and dwemers and all that,
I don't think it's impossible there will be trains or train tracks(plus we're 200 years after oblivion. There could well be some technological improvement).

Please let me know what you think about ways of transport and if you'd like there to be trains or locomotives.

I don't know... that would be pretty intense. I mean you can look back 200 years in our world and see the improvements, for sure! But... I don't know... I'm quite alright with the carriage system idea for transportation. I don't think I would mind it never going any further than that. Besides, as others have pointed out with the existence of magic, the first thing the inhabitants of TES world would be more likely to do is create a sort of public teleportation system fueled by magic. Much like the 'portals' of Frostcrag Spire in Oblivion. Never know though! Games such as this do have to grow... we definitely know that Skyrim is doing just that. (Though not everyone seems to be totally happy with it, ahaha.) The 'centurion sphere' is back and we have heard there are going to be ancient Dwemer ruins and such, even stuff like this >>> "Epic cities that have been carved into mountains by Dwarves long ago, these guys have moved into." "Just an epic fantasy city." (http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/01/13/road-to-skyrim-the-todd-howard-interview.aspx video 2, 7min in)... so yeah! Who knows what we're in for, really? ;)

It would be pretty epic if the dwarves come back and there riding trains lol but I don't think they really fit in Skyrim.
