transcendant sigil stones

Post » Fri Oct 29, 2010 10:59 am

Hi, I am level 15 and on getting the third ingredient for the main quest. Is it worth completing the quest without getting all the transcendent sigil stones what are the differences from normal enchanting? Do the transcendent sigil stones add more elemental damage to weapons than normal enchanting?

thanks

Trancendent are really powerful. You should just do a few oblivion gates now to level up to get the trancendents. Then do the oblivion gates, save before the sigil stone, yada yada yada. My woodelf warrior(Don't ask) is equipped fully in enchanted daedric armor, with a daedric weapon with 25 fire damage, stronger than goldbrand. The enchanted armor actually makes him completely invincible against all melee weapons. Magic can hurt him hardly, and arrows to 1 damage each.

Okay thanks for the response.. well I have no intention to save before sigil stone because that's cheating in my opinion and I don't like to do that. Also I don't have an interest for the gamebreaking enchantments on armor

I wouldn't call them game-breaking. I too, used to enchant three transcendent sigil stones on my clothes: Fire Shield 25%, Frost Shield 25% and Shock Shield 25%, giving me an effective 75% shield in street clothes. (Nowadays I just use one 25% shield, usually fire, for an AC of 25 only.) But even with all these shields, as you level up, you will find that you can still get owned pretty bad, especially against spellcasters. The point though, is to have fun.

A sigil stone will put a single enchantment on an item. At the Arcane University, you can use a Soul Gem and stack enchantments on a single item, i.e., Weakness to Fire, Fire Damage and Soul Trap on a sword or blunt. There are many combinations and you can do more than 3 or do 2 or a single more powerful enchantment depending on your level. I hope this helps. :)

Grand Soul Gems with Grand souls, while as you said they're more versatile, are far weaker than sigil stones. I've enchanted my sword with a single Absorb Health 20 pts using a Black Soul Gem/Grand, and the charge it has allows me to do 21 strikes, while a Transcendent Sigil stone with Absorb Health 25 pts (+5) allows 40 strikes (nearly doubles it).
