Transfer your OB Character to Skyrim

Post » Thu Jun 30, 2011 4:54 am

So i was thinking a transfer Character thing

I would like it to transfer my Oblivion character to Skyrim (and the Oblivion Character will look much better in Skyrim)

But your Oblivion character that's been transferred to Skyrim start back at level 1 again

i would really would like an option like that in Character Creation

What do you think about this ?

if you start back at level 1 again than why do it? Why not just remake the character since we will have better and more improved options?

1. he would be too old (unless a vampire)

2. Oblivion only had one ending, so it's not like there are different choices during your Oblivion playthrough that would result in any different story elements in Skyrim

3. unless you used a mod to create him, he will probably have a strange looking face compared to the more realistic-looking faces of the NPCs of Skyrim

Don't know since it's a different engine, maybe Race and Gender, a possible extra bonus to skills that you specialized in Oblivion.

How will most of the races survive 200 years? What would be the point of importing them? What if you wanted to change their appearance? What if the options you used to make that character aren't available in Skyrim, making that character's face impossible in the game?

That sounds like an okay idea, except that it's 200 years after Oblivion. My character, Gregreo Oscarus, would be long dead by this time. I'd have to find an explanation as to why Gregreo is running around Skyrim in 4E200 at the ripe old age of 221 years old. (I roleplay that he's 21 in Oblivion.)

Elves might be okay though, as they can live for centuries.

IDEA FRIENDS!!!

If you really wanted to re-create your Oblivion character, even if the required features are long gone, you could explain why he/she won't look the same because it's been 200 years. Considering what happens during those two centuries, its no surprise they'd look a bit different.

instead of importing, you can always make a new character that is the same race and try to make the face similar in the character generator.

you can come up with your own RP reason for how he survived so many years.

Personally I prefer to fill in the invisible gaps in time by myself. Just recreate your character's looks from Oblivion and try to give them a viable/lore friendly reason for being there 200 years in the future. I prefer that over the transferring characters thing. I'm just old fashioned :P

It's hard to remake without looking at your older character....

no point really, all that would transfer is a hideous face, since they changed nearly everything about the characters, no classes, attributes, so on and so forth. Plus I don't want to play as a 200 year old woman...wait yes I do, granny-dragonborn! I cold then use unrelenting force shout to get kids off my lawn.

IGB, so? Just take a picture of the Oblivion character front, back, and sideways and try to remake it in Skyrim.

Gregreo won't be in Skyrim because I've already played his story. My character in Skyrim will either be his descendant or another character all together. Sure I had fun with the ol' Greggy, but I'm accepting the fact that by Skyrim, he's likely to be a pile of ash in what was once the Chorrol graveyard.

ORRRRR, you could make a new one and try to recreate the hideous thing from Oblivion
1) Be pretty old
2) Whats the point, make a new one
3) Having bonus carried over would be cheating

Its even harder to transfer between 2 games that don't even use the same engines. The data isn't the same so there is nothing that can be transferred. So no matter how much you want this, it wont happen. It can't happen, period.
