transferable character

Bad idea. Why would I want to start an entirely new game with a level 48 character? Kind of defeats the purpose don't ya think?

I don't see how it would work. You said no items, which makes sense because the items will be different. The skills will be different, so that can't import either. They changed how appearences are made, so your appearence would transfer.
What would transfer? Nothing that I can think of.

Its 200yrs in the future, it would not make sense.

Depends on the race.
But anyway, though it might be fun to retreive your character and play it Skyrim way, I'm not really motivated by this idea.
And it would be a total mess to transfer the skills from Oblivion to Skyrim. Might as well create another character, cheat him up with TESC and name it after your Oblivion one.

OK i remember all the hate on people from sugesting this idea for new vegas, but i really wanna know why would you want this not trying to hate its jsut i dont understand this?
espically when its been 200yrs and i think my character would have died along time ago and i see no added value for being able to play as my old character when i have a fresh new one to have fun with
what im trying to say is how would this be fun?

Anyway, no. I'm against transferable characters. In a game like Mass Effect it makes sense because you are continuing the same story with the same character. In Elder Scrolls that's just not the case.

Though I am having one of my Oblivion over in Skyrim. It's complicated and reincarnation-y though.

Problems; you will start with a high level character, problems transfering stats, how do you know your one and two hands weapon skill? No way of doing perks except let you choose many.
Not going to happen probably not even as a fan based utility as I know no Morrowind to Oblivion transfer programs.

Just have the character of the same race, same name, same RP elements... just slightly aged, (In the case of Mer) or have the character be a son, grandchild, great grandchild... as that would fit in better RP wise.

Wait...there are people who want their fuggly looking pc's from Oblivion to come to skyrim?

I'm looking forward to making something that looks like a human this time around in a TES game. :P

If your character was Dragonborn in Oblivion then you could have gone straight from the Imperial City sewers to the Temple of the One and lit the dragonfires. Needless to say, when you encounter a Dragon in Skyrim while playing the Champion of Cyrodiil you would be killed pretty fast.

That's debatable. A lot of the champion's of Cyrodil were masters of Blade. I don't think the Dragonborn will need to be a master of the blade in order to kill a dragon. :P Combat masters could areguably hold their own against dragons, because they have one skill at least that is on par with the Dragonborn.

Unless you're a powerful wizard using sorcery to keep yourself alive for a 1000+ years (yes, that IS lore-acurate).
But then everyone else would be left out

They obviously don't consider anyone else a threat.

What if your champion of cyrodiil did nothing but eat at the feed bag and use alteration spells?

How'd they become the Champ in the first place then?

They fear the Dragonborn because he can use their powers as well. Dragonshouts level the playing field, making the Dragonborn the only real thread to their plans. A master of blade could be able to kill a dragon here or there, he still wouldn't be a threat to the Aldiun's plans. The Dragonborn will be killing the bulk amount of dragons, but that doesn't mean we will be alone. I can see a master of destuction magic being able to go toe to toe with a dragon easily.
