Transferring Second Character from one PC to another

Post » Mon Dec 05, 2011 9:45 am

Hi all,

I'm wondering if someone could explain, or link to an explanation of how to transfer a character from one PC to another PC that already has a character on it without deleting the one already present.

I'm considering rolling an extra toon at work (lol it's a sloooooow day and I'm bored)... I don't want to do it, however, if I can't move the character created to my home PC as I normally won't be able to play at work and I don't think I want to play such an epic game on such a [censored] computer anyway...I really just want to make him here, customize his looks and everything, get through the opening bit, then be able to bring him and play him at home.

Thanks so much community!

Copy your save game to the other PC. Shouldn't overwrite anything if the file names are different (which they mostly should be...)

You should be able to go to your My Documents folder and Open up My Games/Skyrim and copy the relevant
save file for your character... If unsure maybe you should copy the whole save folder in Mygames/Skyrim and
place it in the same place on your other PC.

Awesome! Thanks guys. And then when I open Skyrim on my home PC it will just give me all my home saves plus the new ones I've created at work? Won't just replace the home one's with the work ones?

Unless you somehow have exactly the same file names on both, I don't think you'll have a problem.

If the File name is the same but if u want to play the same character on 1 PC then rename the character file your moving to something slightly different by 1 character.
Delete the old save game file, then transfer and rename your slightly different one back to the original file name.(which i think is your character name.)

Winrar.

That's all you need. Archive "old" player by zipping up all the saves and deleting them, then zip up the one you want to move and extract the zip to the old save folder.
