Transfiguration in Skyrim?

Post » Fri Mar 11, 2011 5:43 pm

Transfiguration. Yes, like the class in Harry Potter.

Turning yourself (and others) into other creatures seems like a very obvious magic school, if you ask me, so why isn't it present in the game? The only trace of that kind of magic I think of is the Wabbajack in Oblivion, where you can turn any creature into another random creature.

Anyone else feel like this should be touched on a bit more?

I think it would be nice, but we already know the skills, so it might fall under alteration or something if they wanted to implement it. Otherwise, there's always mods. :celebration:

Right, but the possibility of mods should never be an excuse for Bethesda not to implement something in their game.

And wait, since when did we know all the skills? I thought we only knew five or six.

Allthough we know all the magic skills, I don't think we have a complete skilllist?

But does it really have a place in Tamriel?

You can transform yourself or be transformed to a degree through vampirism or were - but those are permanent changes more or less

Transfiguration could very well fall under Alteration if they wanted to implement it. We know it is possible because you first meet http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Bloodmoon:Ettiene_of_Glenmoril_Wyrd as a giant raven in Bloodmoon. So yes it does fit Elder Scrolls because it exists. It's just never been available to the player as far as I know.

Remember the really cheap version - Summon a Clannfear and go invisible at the same.

But we also know most of the skills will return, at least the staples of ES do. If anything it would rolled into Alteration of Conjuration. Midas magic did it with wolves so it is possible, even with the old engine.

I want to turn into a Cliff Racer. Then I can fly around and annoy the living hell out of everyone I meet.

Wouldn't it be great if, using the supposed power of Elder Scrolls dragons, we could take on dragon forms of our own while they may take on human forms?

Ever play Divinity II? You could do that and your dragon leveled up with you, he even had armor slots and weapons.
