"Trap" Skill Tree!

Post » Sun Mar 24, 2013 2:45 am

I'm sure this may have come up before, but there should be a Skill Tree for creating and using Traps.

We have a couple spells that are used kind of like Traps (those Rune spells you cast on the ground.), but I feel like those are only good, and useful if you are playing a caster, and they kill your mana pool, even as a caster.

We already have the Ore, like Iron and Steel, so when it gets smelted down into Bars/Ingots, we could use those to create different types of traps. Once they get placed on the ground they can snare enemies and do some damage over time, and the damage and snare duration would be based on the type of trap. Then it could also be combined with the Alchemy Skill Tree and the use of Poisons with Traps for amazing effects!

What do you think?

Also, this is my first post here. I hope it's in the right place, if not. I'm sorry!

Eh. I wasn't aware people actually used traps.

It seems it would be best placed in the Sneak tree.

That's just my opinion.

That would be pretty cool for roleplaying a Ranger/Hunter.

Bow and Trap build

Imagine if you could make cages and throw septims in it to lure people or meat to lure animals...

Or an immobilization trap.

Dang, now I want this...

that would proberbly come under Smithing if it was added even if the trap was poisoned you'd end up using the potion to smith it like the building matirials in Hearthfire

They arent going to add skill trees.
It would mess up leveling.
Advice: Get a mod for it.

There are several trap mods available. No real interest in supporting an entire tree for it. I have tried to implement a mod for applying custom poisons to them. But I'm not well enough versed in the art of code. I even threw out a request in the mod forum.
