More lethal traps, also enemies who uses traps strategically, you want a spell caster or archer to cover a trap, in this case the trap don’t have to be very lethal enough that it delays you and warn the enemy.

More good physics one would be good, giant rolling boulders :) etc. Swinging blade type ones that swing out when you get close and maybe have time to duck, rather than the rhythmic swinging blades in oblivion that are too easy to dodge through. Snake pit maybe that suddenly opens under you.

Really curious to see how havok behaviour will be incorporated into such things.

I def agree on havok behavior, imagine someone getting axed and smashing against the wall, with the trap swinging back to dislodge the corpse.

i would like to see better hidden arrow traps. Like the ones in oblivion where they are on the sides of walls and shoot out at you. they were very effective but so easy to spot out. I would like to see them partially covered or something like that making them way harder to see and maybe add poison tips that would be fun to tinker with.

They could be hidden by a panel that drops while you're in the killzone. :D

some sort of trap reliant on weight is interesting. Like you have to move a certain number of objects onto different small platforms. If its too heavy or light, causes some trap to open up. Something like that.

Yeah somethibng like that. I wouldnt wanna get too radical with the traps though like the panel drops then side doors open and a barrage of poisoned flaming exploive arrows shoot at you lol. That would be a little over kill but something around that would be very interesting especially if you could lure perhaps a viking zombie or something like that into it.

log piles, if you're near a lumber yard.... I don't think they belong in deep dungeons.

in dungeons there should be....
-Ewok-Style log traps (maybe with boulders/large cut stones instead or something)...
-Spiked floors
-Floors that drop down from under you (sometimes just making you go down 1 floor, sometimes more devastating consequences.)
-Arrows, that shoot out of the wall (sometimes poison)
-Walls that close in very slowly
-One token-Indiana-Jones Boulder-trap. same method of survival, find a little hole to hide in.
-The dungeon starts crumbling down once you retrieve a great treasure
-Swinging blades (like in Oblivion)
-I can probably think of more in time....

I think some traps should mean instant death however. You should have to be careful and move through the dungeon with finesse no matter how strong you are. If you are physically smashed, or 9 foot spikes are piercing you from the ground, you should be dead IMO.

I dunno if the ewok traps should be in a cave either i mean maybe traps in forests or on a mountain like walking on an extended bridge and some of the planks falls off and you fall to your death or something like that and have the ewok type traps in the forest maybe hidden about or something. I dunno just widely speaking here that would be very interesting to me. I love indiana jones and most certainly would enjoy having boulders chase me down in a cave.

I agree i do enjoy living in a game so i can obviously play it however I would like a challenge not just with the demons and monsters in a cave but puzzles that lead to a trap if you do it wrong that can cauase instant death or something like that

The ones I have in mind would probably mean insta-death for them to make any sense, like moving floors/walls crushing you, or some quick horizontal sharp thing decapitating you. Oh well, they could always just add an easy mode with Admiral Ackbar guiding you through the dungeons.

I would love to have lots of different varieties of traps. Most importantly for me I think is that they should be lethal and take a range of skills to overcome! For example, some Prince of Persia style traps that require dexterity to navigate, some puzzle traps that require some thought process to beat (and are perhaps otherwise VERY lethal), some physics based traps that simply need to be noticed, gas and elemental traps that can be beaten using spells or potions.

There is so much potential to incorporate dungeoneering into your roleplaying experience beyond just battling through - puzzles and traps if handled correctly can present an engaging challenge for a variety of players, and can be genuinely effected by the character you have built.

More traps would be epic. And, imo, they should be way more hidden, and pack a much bigger punch. The best an oblivion trap could do, is scraqe off around a tenth of your health, bulong awayen, you could often see the traps from a long away, and avoid them easily.

I reckon this where traps can shine though. Surely bypassing a trap ought to be a challnge. Figuring it out; a puzzle. Then they would go from sort of pointless annoyances - like dungeon speedbumps - to genuine gameplay elements.

I just want to see the bolder trap. Walk up a corridor and a massive bolder suddenly appears and you have to run back up before it hits you. That would be awesome :P

Unpredictable ones. I'm I the only one that remembers that one Elf dude in the Shivering Isles you were supposed to go, Erm, Help 'save' people. Take about 15 steps into the dungeon and out of no where get smushed by the floor raising up to the roof in a split second? Traps like that were awesome. I literally lol'd when I saw that guy get owned.

Since it's been confirmed that the PC will be able to cast magical runes and glyphs on the ground, I expect that NPC spellcasters will be able to do the same.

We will likely see enemy spellcasters using magical glyphs that cause frost, fire, electric, paralysis, poison, possibly telekinesis or force damage.

If some of the traps in Shivering Isles are anything to go by, I've got to say I'm optimistic. Like that one floor panel that, when stepped on, sent a rain of coins showering down from a newly opened panel in the ceiling. And following that, a murderous rain of darts! Genius.
More at hand, I'd like some poison darts, and of course a fair dose of Dwemeri gearpunk whirling death blades.

- The usual traps
- Walls closing in on you when you're in the area
- Floor flips 180 (nice change from spike pits)
- M0AR

You walk into a room. Suddenly(!) a roof of spikes plummets down and is about to hit you when it stops. Then the floor opens! And you land in a small pit. And then the floor rises up and squashes you against the spikes.
