You could kill them, take there things, or maybe some get robbed and have a quest for you, who knows

Secondly, this is a good idea. I liked the caravans in FO3.

Indeed, and they did work well thought by the end I had killed many of them simply because of boredom or lust for loot

Do traveling merchants face being killed by the dragons? Should there be few (or even none) traveling merchants with the whole dragon and civil war thing going on? I can see a few well armed caravans, but not a lot.

Welcome to the forums. I see a fishy stick has already been given.

I think this would be a good idea as well. I don't want to have to travel back to cities to sell my loot then have to find walk back to where I fast traveled from.

While I never played FO3, I do like them in NV. Even before that, there was the mod for Oblivion that added them in. It was one of those mods I couldn't play without. It made running around (to up my Athletics skill) a lot more interesting. It also gave me more places to stop and sell my loot.

A mod already does this in Oblivion. You should go to the mod section and ask is he is planning to make one for Skyrim. I hope he does. It's a great mod.

YES YES YES! I would love this to be implemented. It would add heaps of realism to the world and maybe some of them could hire you as a bodyguard or something as they go from city to city. And since I'm a console gamer, mods mean nothing to me so I would like it in the vanilla game.

Yes, heavily armed caravans of travelling merchants would be great. I don't want that much loot to be obtained as easily as killing one NPC.

Yeah it would nice thing to have in skyrim. Think about all the possibilities for evil characters, waiting by the road for a caravan to pass by... :ninja:

A nice little side-quest could be escorting a traveling merchant to a certain location and along the way fending off a group of highwaymen.

With the addition of being able to walk while talking, they could make great traveling companions for a short time.

Yes good idea. i'd offer you a fishy stick but you'll get fat. i think it'd be cool to see them occasionally, but not too much so they aren't unique, with a guard or two following them around to make it interesting.
