I personally like goijg offroad. It gives you the best picture of Cyrodiil, and you can find many ingredients this way.

In the beginning I wandered the wilderness mainly but nowadays I follow the roads more. Don′t know why but I do. Maybe because that′s probably what I′d do if I were really there.

I can't really vote because it all depends on the character. I hardly ever fast-travel with any of mine, but some characters like to travel the roads (like Kahreem: Redguard Thief) while others prefer to 'rough it' (like Lady Saga: Bosmer Ranger).

If I could choose both 2 and 3 I'd do that, but the poll's not multiple choice.

I travel on both offroads and roads. It depends on character and the current situation I have in my roleplay.

I have fast travel disabled by mod that also adds boats and carriage into the game.

But i travel both on roads and in wilderness equally,.... well depending on my character. Soooo no vote.

Boats and carriages sounds really nice. Are they real time boats and carriages or just fast-travelling ones?

If I don't fast-travel, I follow the roads. That's where most random events occur, plus I have a lot of problems when I got off the road, like trying to climb up the sides of steep mountains.

Unfortunately fast-travel based for me..... so you basically pay for fast travel, that works only for determined locations.

As with so many other things in roleplaying, I try to take only those actions that are most appropriate to my character. Some of my characters travel on foot on roads, some of my characters travel on foot avoiding all roads (and cities), some characters ride horses as soon as they can afford one and never travel by foot again, some characters split their travel time between horses and foot travel.

I often use mods that add Morrowind/Skyrim-style in-game travel options like boats and carriages and many of my characters use these. I roleplay that map-based fast travel is a form of advanced magic, so my Mages (after they have attained sufficient knowledge and power) like to point their fingers at maps and utter the command, "Take me there. Now!"

It all depends on the character. They let me know when I'm doing something wrong. ;)
